Did I buy a lemon peeler or a butter knife?

An amateur chef friend of mine is always happy when I buy him kitchen gadgets and tools, and I knew he wanted a citrus peeler (not one of those little claw zesters), so I thought I lucked out when I found the item in question. But when I got home I realized that this may not be a peeler at all. In fact, it seems to be a butter knife. It’s ‘head’ is the shape of a spoon (but completely flat) and serrated with very sharp edges up one side- but the handle is over 4 inches long and as thick as a thumb. Any experts out there who can tell me what if there are any peelers in existence that look like this? (the brand is Lagostina, if that helps. And I do not want to go back to the store to ask, for obvious reasons)

Crap. Never mind. After a bit more googling, it is so a butter/spread knife. Crud. Don’t tell Mensa.
