Congrats, mswas. I’ve always thought that best way to resolve these conflicts that seem to have gotten personal is to use the ignore list. Life is too short to stay mad at people you don’t really care about anyways.
You’ll find that, if somebody makes an important post, somebody else will quote it, so you won’t have missed out on anything, anyways. And if you strongly suspect that a post might have substance, you can always disable the ignore function for that one post.
I think people around here are just too afraid to use the ignore function. I think that’s why some people just seem so much more hostile on here than in real life. In real life, they would eventually ignore the person who causes them grief. On here, they don’t seem to realize this is an option, or, because of the anonymity and physical safety, actually enjoy pissing people off.

You and I have different definitions of trolling because to me making fun of people who compare Obama to Hitler on a Liberal message board isn’t trolling. But I guess people here have an inverted logic as their definition of trolling is not the intention of the person they are calling the troll but their own overreaction to it. Who knew that people would get so worked up when I made fun of stupid conservatives?

So lets see, it was controversial and inflammatory to the small minority who were too stupid to get it. Most people just groaned and moved on. It couldn’t be off-topic as it WAS the topic. My primary intent was to invoke an emotional response but that response was chuckling not frothing, and I was not trying for a disciplinary response. And disrupting the normal on-topic conversation is simply not applicable as the post WAS the topic.

I truly am sorry that some people are too stupid to realize that Obama is not German and is not trying to cleanse the Fatherland to revivify Germany’s Teutonic heritage, but I cannot be held liable for the inability of morons to parse simple incongruities. Sure the joke wasn’t very funny, but it was hardly trolling to make fun of the conservatives at Town Hall meetings comparing Obama to Hitler. I mean I guess I was trolling people who feel there is a legitimate comparison to be made.
