Did they cancel the tv show “Jesse”? It was usually in the top 10 (probably thanks to the lead in from Friends).
Yes. The show was staggering by the end of last season (with or without the help of Friends) and got swept out with a lot of other young, single attractive-people comedies, to be replaced with a bunch of new young, single attractive-people comedies.
My guess would be that it was cancelled because it sucked. Sucked big time. Like a sucking chest wound.

At some point you have to turn up the sound. That is the point where Friends lost me.
It was cancelled after they had made the cliffhanger ending, where Diego married Linda to stay in the US.
Now we’ll never know what happens…
That’s how I felt about that old show “V” and they cancelled it after Elizabeth boarded the shuttle with the Leader and Diana confessed to planting a bomb on board. Grrrr, now I’ll never know!

If you really miss the show, you can catch reruns on USA Network weekdays at 10AM.
NBC is in a critcal period now. By moving Fraiser off of Tuesdays to Thursdays they shook their hold on Tuesdays. Fraiser while still winning was not nearly up to Seinfeld
Now remember audience numbers are falling Seinfeld even at it’s biggest was no where near what Cosby had been.
(In fact in terms of sheer numbers not percentage) Lavern and Shirley peaked in the late 70s (before Cable became widespread)
Now NBC still remembers A Different World. That show was so dependent on COSBY it BOMBED big time after Cosby left. It was totally incapable of suppporting an audience without a lead in.
Jesse and others are like that. They get good numbers but cannot support them w/o a lead in.
So if Friends cancelled. Jesse couldn’t keep it’s numbers if it moved into a lead show and NBC would have to find a 7:30 show that in all likelyhood would be even weaker than Jesse.
It would be safe to say that any shows on USA during their USAM thing are cancelled. I’m kinda ticked off they canceled Ned and Stacey though. Actually I never watched the show when it was on… that… one… channel… but watching it on USA, I find it damn funny only because of Thomas Hayden Church, although Debra Messing… yum!
BTW, the girl who played Linda on Jessie is now employed over on Yes, Dear. She’s basically playing the same character: blue-collar, tough, kinda ditzy, bit of a floozie, but warm-hearted. Sort-of a Laverne DeFazio for the 00’s.
