I remember that when Arma 2 first came out, most of the reviews basically covered five points:
- This thing is frickin’ beautiful
- The sheer open-endedness and sandbox-y leanings promise lots of fun.
- Wow, this game is really hard to learn.
- Huh, a lot of these controls and interfaces could stand to be much more user-friendly.
- OH GOD THE BUGS, THEY BURN LIKE NAPALM.
So, being a rather pernicious and hard-to-please gamer, I said to myself “This game looks totally awesome. I think I’m going to wait a year and see if the developers manage to patch it into some semblance of playability.”
It’s been almost a year since the release, so I’m hoping the board has at least a few people who are still playing and can tell me: did they ever make an effort at cleaning up the glitches? Or am I still at constant risk of having moods and fun multi-hour missions scrapped by a game or mission-breaking bug at regular intervals?
