It start off complaining about “the nasty prolonged presidential election”
What cow patties!
The whole thing was characterized by being ultra PC on both sides. Even when both could claim the election was “being stolen”, they didn’t. They both kept the gloves on and tried to look presidential.
The magazine is trying to start a fight when none exists.
Don’t you recall the prior elections, where Perot was whipping up the discontent vote? This has been the calmest election of the last century.
Oh, you mean the thinly disguised plug for Contributing Editor Bill O’Reilly’s book, The O’Reilly Factor? That cover story? The magazine isn’t trying to start a fight, hon–they’re just trying to keep Billy’s book from being remaindered.
Except… Well, for me, Parade comes inside my Sunday newspaper. I don’t read it, except occasionally to read “Ask Marilyn.” I get my Sunday paper for the comics, the coupons, and the ads. What Parade puts on their cover won’t change that.
And I suspect much the same is true for other people.
Just a couple of weeks ago, our paper was notified by Parade that they were no longer going to be allowed to run the magazine on Sundays because they added the “USA Weekend” magazine (another publication of about the same caliber, although it doesn’t seem as right-wing) on Saturdays. “Parade Pulls Magazine From Journal”
There was a noticeable lack of mourning in the city.
