We ‘went to bed’ shortly after 11, but were still awake at midnight, reading or messing about on a phone/tablet, so we listened to the fireworks, then rolled over and went to sleep.
I have no idea whether I was awake at midnight. We were watching some random documentary about the Caribbean on Amazon Instant Video, and I was drifting in and out for most of it. Woke up around 1:00 am long enough to brush my teeth and crawl into bed.
I’m almost always awake at midnight on New Year’s, but usually either home or at some low-key party at a friend’s house, not out for some night of drunken debauchery.
Always stay up till after midnight… this year I got to bed around 7am, which is a bit later than usually. Decent party.
I usually stay up past midnight on New Year’s Eve, but I would honestly rather not. New Year’s holds absolutely no meaning to me as a holiday. The only reason why I stay up is because I’m usually with my parents and they’re big on staying up.
I usually stay up way past midnight if way past means 12:30. This year we went to a party and left around 12:20, so I went to bed not much later than usual.
This was the first year that sig. other and I decided we weren’t going out and we didn’t have plans.
My son was out of town, so theoretically we could have gone out. My partner usually gets up at 5 am as he has a long commute and likes to get to the office at 730 am. He actually left even early than that on the 31st. Later that day we found out his dad was diagnosed with Stage III cancer and it just sucked the joy right out of me. He fell asleep by 10 pm and I chatted on line with a few friends. I tried to wake him up at 11 pm to watch the Bye-Bye (Radio-Canada French Language year end comedy show) but he was heavily asleep. I kissed his forehead at midnight and he woke up, kissed me and went back to sleep on the couch.
Am I old and lame that I am good with that?
I’d love to stay up late and I usually am a night owl, but with dogs who are deathly afraid of fireworks (and my neighbors love to shoot 'em for at least an hour on NYE), I shut the house up tight, turn on some soothing music and put the crew to bed, myself included.
Went to bed at like 2am…which is early since I’m usually up until like 4am.
I’m usually up late even when I have to get up early.
Lately I usually go to bed around 10 or 11. Over the break, I can stay up longer, but NYE is close enough to school starting up again that I figured I ought to get back into early habits.
I usually stay up, but not always. I’m not that into New Years. Stayed up last year because I was working overnight.
Went to bed probably around 10. I have a very vague recollection of fireworks waking me up around midnight, but I must have gone right back to sleep because I’m not even sure if that actually happened or if I was dreaming or what.
It’s been a stressful end of the year and NYE was especially stressful, so by the time I got home from work, I was just ready to crash.
I was on break and typically stay up till 2 or 3 during vacation, so I chose the first one. A normal weekday I go to bed by midnight.
I was up until about 5 am, and that’s a little later than I stay up most nights. I’m usually in bed around 3am.
It is rare for me to be in bed before two anyway.
I’m usually in bed by about 10. But Warren Haynes wasn’t done playing and I wasn’t done listening to him.
Sort of. My wife and I had the annual snack-feast and movie-watching that we usually do on NYE now that we have children. Watched “Evil Dead 2” and “Army of Darkness” in order to bring her up to speed so we can start watching “Ash vs. The Evil Dead”.
Went to bed at the normal time- 11:30-ish, and while we were laying there reading, she leans over and says “Happy New Year”, and it turned out to be midnight. We went to sleep shortly thereafter, which is right about when we normally go to sleep anyway.
I was up till 1am last night and it was just a random Tuesday.
On NYE I was up till about 3:30AM but I usually stay up past midnight on weekends anyways. I was playing on the computer and watching TV but at midnight I went out on the balcony and watched the fireworks off in the distance and then went back to the computer and TV.
