Different Song, Same Title

Waterloo, by ABBA and Stonewall Jackson.

Also Eurythmics and Erasure.

(According to my iPod)

Susan

I was going to start a similar thread but, but was going to take the angle of ‘two totally different, oddly titled songs’. My example would be “It Never Rains in Southern Calfornia”- you wouldn’t expect two different songs to have that title, but the one by Albert Hammond, and another by a recent soul act whose name escapes me at the moment.

Ironically enough, One:

Metallica
Three Dog Night
Madonna
U2

Fire” the Crazy World of Arthur Brown; Jimi Hendrix; the Pointer Sisters

“Ship of Fools” - Grateful Dead, Bruce Hornsby & the Range, World Party

The Pet shop boys apparently did cover this song but it was first done by the band Real Life

Don’t Stop by Fleetwood Mac, and by the Rolling Stones. Same title, two completely different songs.

“Joy to the World” is both a Three Dog Night hit, and a popular Christmas carol.

Nonet: Herman’s Hermits also recorded a “Hold On.”

…and Bruce Springsteen.

Also Rev. Gary Davis.

Also non-Beatle Johnny Nash.

Two additional “Crazys”: Gnarls Barkley and Pylon (later covered by R.E.M.).

That’s the same song as the Pointer Sisters one. Broooce wrote it, of course.
