Diner breakfast! Whatcha having?

behold the best breakfast place in America… any other places are posers http://www.crazyottosdiners.com/

Sausages wrapped in pancakes with butter n syrup; scrambled; maybe a bloody mary.

At the Hawaii Style Cafe in Waimea: two eggs scrambled, fried rice, and kalua pork hash, washed down with plenty of black coffee.

It is to die for.

I cannot eat eggs, and since most diners consider breakfasts to include eggs, my choices are limited. Still, if the place offers pancakes, I’ll get those; and if it doesn’t, it can usually make a BLT.

So: pancakes and bacon and hash browns, or a BLT with fries. Plus orange juice and coffee.

[li]I don’t usually eat breakfast. I think it’s been ten years since the last time.[/li][li]I have never been in a “diner” as Americans describe it. Though obviously we have similar cafes here, their breakfast options will not match.[/li][li]I don’t really eat what other people eat.[/li][/ol]

I’ll just have an orange juice.

Count me in, swapping OJ for the V8.

Except at Holly’s Lighthouse Cafe in Pacific Grove, CA. Have to get the Castroville, fresh artichoke hearts, bacon and cheese, smothered in Pepper Plant hot sauce. Mmmm

Depends on how recently I’ve had a breakfast sandwich. Eggs and cheese on a croissant is one of my favorite foods ever, but because it is, I’m inclined to eat it pretty frequently. If I haven’t had it in a while, I’ll choose that (if croissants aren’t available, substitute in a bagel or w/e.)

If I’ve had a breakfast sandwich, then probably chocolate chip pancakes with a side of scrambled eggs and bacon. Or, occasionally, I’ll do biscuits and gravy.

And I’ll probably be paralyzed with indecision at the drink options, because I’ll want a water, a coffee, an orange juice, a mimosa, and a bloody mary.

YES! Just what I came in to post. Awesome, aren’t they?

I also love their grilled mahi mahi with two over-easy eggs, rice, papaya half and a glass of POG.

Scrambled eggs with onions and smoked salmon, hash browns, coffee, a Bloody Mary. (I’ll just order a spicy V8 and pour some Stolis from my flask if necessary)

Pork roll, egg, and cheese sandwich.

I grew up in New Jersey but live in Florida now. Diners aren’t really a thing down here, and I’m not a big breakfast eater. So, when I visit the family I have to go to the diner up the street from them and have a pork roll sandwich. It’s one of the few things I actually miss about NJ.

Two poached eggs, hash browns or fried potatoes (with ketchup), bacon, wheat toast with butter, more bacon, tea, orange juice. If I’m particularly hungry I’ll have a couple of pancakes (with syrup, not ketchup, obvs) instead of the potatoes.

A breakfast horseshoe.

I’ll go Hawaiian too with either:
Loco Moco - Rice topped with a big hamburger patty (patty should be loose - not some prepackaged texturized BS), eggs, over easy for me, as the next layer, and smothered with brown gravy.
OR
The Big Breakfast at the Big City Diner; 3 eggs my style, bacon, Paniolo potatoes with onions and peppers, some pineapple chunks, whole wheat toast.

Both the above coffee and glass of POG. POG is blend of passion fruit, orange and guava juices.

I’ll have what he’s having. Eggs ‘over, easy’.

(my bold)
Give me all the bacon and eggs you have

2 eggs either over easy or scrambled, white toast, sausage patty or well-done bacon and OJ

Cheese omelet, French fries, whole wheat toast with jelly and lots of coffee with cream and sweetner.

I don’t even have to ask at my local diner anymore.

No huevos rancheros yet? That’s my go to breakfast at the place I frequent most. But a place like a Village Inn or something can’t manage it properly.

  1. Corn beef hash. Although many do this poorly too. There is one place that I will eat it at. Must be homemade corned beef, sliced up from the night before. Probably my favorite is prime rib hash and eggs. Now your talking.

  2. Chicken fried steak and eggs. Most places I frequent can manage this.

I’m assuming this is a sub-IHOP level class place. Seat yourself, your server is chewing gum, etc.

Waffle House. Pecan waffles with heated “syrup,” maple-flavored, and “spread,” butter-flavored. Hash browns, (I forget the Waffle House terms) withe American cheese, jalapenos, tomatoes and country gravy. Scrambled or fried egg sandwich on toast, double egg and cheese. And a glass of diet cola.

Greek diner. Three-egg omelet, fillings will vary. Could be spinach and feta, or three-cheese with salsa and sour cream, or whatever vegetarian stuff sounds good. Short stack of buckwheat pancakes and real maple syrup or some fruit syrup. A request for the margarine scoop to be served on the side. (Anyone else hate that? I eat my savory foods first, then the pancakes… And the fatty spread of whatever composition has melted, creating a soggy crater of salty buttery cake. None to spread, and a gross mouthfeel.) Home fries with catsup. And a diet cola.

Standard diner - 2 eggs over easy, wheat toast, hashbrowns, and those little brown sausages, with a short stack of pancakes.

A little more upscale - Monterey Omelette (Bacon/Avocado/Green Onion inside, Monterey Jack cheese/sour cream/salsa on top), wheat toast, fruit on the side.
