Is the game on hold?
I was wondering the same thing, too…
Now that I am rereading that sentence it seems to contain one “too” to many. But I’m just so curious 
Ah, the suspense…
Is it just me, or has this game been a giant clusterfuck from the start? Seriously, we’re barely on the 3rd(?) year. Or is this normal?
You guys are a bunch of night owls, I love it…
If you’ll check your emails, you’ll see that I have indeed placed the game on hold. I wanted to wait the weekend to give the Russian time to reply and explain himself, however not a peep…very bad form. Shibb mentioned that he had a couple players lined up who may want step in, so with luck it won’t be a long delay.
As for this game being a clusterfuck, honestly things have moved along pretty smoothly. There have been games played by vets here that have been complete and utter farses due to circumsatnces beyond anyones control.
We had one slowdown due to some beginner mistakes at the outset, followed by this issue. Aside from that things have been pretty respectable. We’ll be beginning the 4th year, same pace as the Sophomore game. Things will speed up once we resume now that the initial alliances and communication is set.
Granted, however, had this been an in person game, I would’ve been long over (with me as the victor of course). Oh, and there I go, stating the obvious. I’m off to bed. Catch you all in the morning (afternoon?).

Well, where to begin? First with the apology that I owe to all of you, and especially our GM. To go a full week without word was unforgivable and I cannot expect you to allow it. Please replace me with someone more reliable, though I was having great fun playing with you all. Perhaps I can get into a future game and be more respectful.
Now, a short explanation. I went on vacation last week to a beach house in North Carolina where I was supposed to have access to a laptop so I could continue play. Unfortunately said laptop died a horrible death on the trip down and was unavailable. I went so far as to travel to the local library in an attempt to contact you all, but they only allowed internet to card holders, and wouldn’t give a card to someone from out of state. As I didn’t have my own vehicle with me, travelling everywhere in search of net access would have been a burden to everyone and I was forced to concede defeat.
Once again I apologize for the disrespect and I hope you can continue to enjoy the game despite my absence.

I support Proposal 302 but suggest an amendment. The word “French” should be substituted by the word “Italian”. Other than that, the proposal finds my approval.
Now, seriously… if you want to keep playing, Mastema, that would be fine with me. I don’t know about the arrangements the GM already has made, though, but I just want to say: for my part - no hard feelings.

Omni, just who is doing the Russian thang? When’s the next deadline? When is the new map going to be up? What’s going on here?
I anxiously await y’all’s responses…and your emailed responses. (Though it would be easier if we had a map to work with.)
I suggest either letting Mastema submit his moves late, or getting someone else to take over and submit moves late, or to NMR Russia until someone wants to take over. I don’t want this game to die! We’re doing so well!
Of course you’re doing well. I’m also confused. Where exactly are we at this point in time? We weren’t supposed to submit orders right (it my understanding that the game was on hold)? And the Cowboys still suck.

To everyone who may be following things, I’ve decided to retain Mastema as our Russia, he explained his absence in the thread and I’m expecting that he’ll move forward from here without any issue.
Personally I prefer to not replace a player unless necessary since many of the relationships and the dynamic of the alliances can often depend on discussions dating back to the initial years. I’m relieved to hear that we weren’t simply in the situation of a struggling power just quiting.
The game is in the Spring of 1904. The next deadline is this coming Friday at 5PM CDT, presuming that this email issue with Whack-A-Mole is merely a transient glitch. I’ll have a half-assed website with index page up shortly. Perhaps one day I’ll follow through on my promise to actually Dreamweaver up a pretty one, wish I could use ASP or PHP for this.
