Well, it gave a 404 back in July…a whole month ago. If it works now, don’t blame me.

I’ll update the website as soon as possible.
Webpage is updated for Autumn 1904.
Is the Fall map not right? From spring to fall, France gains two units, an Italian army vanishes, the Germans master teleportation…
Well, those Germans are a shifty bunch.
Watch and learn my good students…
[heckler]
England:
With the Germans taking northern Russia, those two fleets in Scandanavia will be more worrisome and a threat. Get Wales onto the mainland next turn. Footholds are good. You and the Italian should agree on how to demarcate France.
Germany:
The English fleet in Denmark is a problem. Make sure to defend your Russian holdings. Look out for the Southeast. You want an Austria not to strong, as it could go after you when you are spread out. But, you don’t want a weak Austria, as it could go after you if desperate.
Russia:
New German troops will be knocking on your Western door next year. Best bet? Note to all that Germany is really really big.
Austria:
Trieste to Venice would be interesting, but not good for you with Turkey. Smyrna is looking nice. Get Galacia into Rumania. Watch out for a German player who is looking for those last few supply centers.
Italy:
The army in Burgandy is a handy bargaining tool. Excise the Portuguese as fast as possible, as that fleet in Spain is much more useful elsewhere. You’ll need help, though. Divy up France with England, but try to negotiate a DMZ in Gascony and Burgandy. The East is an all-around mess. Cut a solid deal with someone, and you will be fine. Someone will swing south from the mainland sometime soon.
Turkey:
Defense is the key right now. Weather the storm. See which way Russia falls. Someone will crack. Now is not the time for rash decisions.
France:
Keep attacking Spain. Hope that the Western Mediterranian stays messy for a long time.
[/heckler]
Yeah, sorry about that. The link was to the Fall 1903 map. We regret the error.

Due tomorrow, noon.
Site updated shortly.
Jonmarzie, I’d love to hear the version based on the correct map. That map was a full year old, how about giving it another shot based on the post-Winter 1904 map coming up somtime tomorrow.
Omni, I’ve sent a couple of notes out asking other for commentary…
Oh ah. Hard game to comment on. Too even, too well played.
GM: Stick the entire “Game History” table in a file, call in “gamehist.html”. On each turn’s page, take out the history and put this in: <!–#include virtual=“gamehist.html”–>
Then every page will show the same game history, and updating the gamehist file will update every page.
France: You’re screwed. Pardon my french.
England: Allies are good. You don’t seem to have any. Make strong alliances with Italy and Russia, and keep the lines of communication open with Turkey and Germany. Germany has a new fleet to test, and I don’t think they’re heading for the new world. He can’t take Nth and defend Nwy and defend Swe, so make the right guess next turn. Paris is tricky.
Germany: Way to kick ass. You never had to defend against the Austrians or Italians. You let Italy take Austria, and now you have to defend against Italy. I think you’re going to regret the fleet, but keep up the inertia and you’ll be fine.
Russia: Getting the Germans out of Warsaw: Good. Doing it by supporting someone else in: Bad. You can help England take Nwy, but it’s not really worth it.
Austria: The Italians were trouble from the beginning. Kind of sad, really. Convince Russia to let you keep Warsaw. Pray.
Turkey: You won’t be able to hold Greece. Just delay Italy and take Rum.
Italy: Get rid of the French, even though it means you won’t be able to make big inroads to Germany this year. Having to defend Spa every turn is a waste. After that, get on the other side of Switzerland at any cost, just to prevent a stalemate line.
Now you all have to comment on 1099: the game - the thread. Shibb’s playing in it, so consider it a way to show appreciation for your GM. And hope that he’s writing down his thoughts on this game, because I know he’d be commenting if he could.
Wikkit, love that hint about the html include. Back in my employed days I loved the PHP and ASP includes and never realized that there was a html/javascript version of it. I’ve been long handing these pages and its annoying. Great tip.
Also, loved the commentary. I’ll return the favor sometime soon.
Once Shibb gets the Winter page up, perhaps a few others can chime in about the game after seeing the Winter adjustments. The dynamic has changed greatly and will prove to be quite interesting.
The Winter page is up, I extrapolated it’s URL and commented from it. That’s how I knew about Germany’s new fleet.
That’s also part of the reason I made the comment on the history thing. By the way, it’s a server side include (SSI), a feature of Apache and all good httpdaemons. No javascript involved. The footer on this page is actually 5 SSIs that I include in every page. Easier than updating them by hand.
Ooooh, a page about pulse jets. How interesting
Well, Wikkit, when you are attacked by both England and Italy, and Austria refuses to help on the grounds that he “doesn’t want to get involved”, and then Germany stabs you at the exact critically wrong moment and offers some lame excuse that he didn’t get your last email message, whattayagonnado?
Lemur, you lose, that’s what. I didn’t want to leave you out, but there’s obviously no advice I can give you. I commiserate.
Trigonal, my real PJ site is at hepjet.com, but it’s in for a tuneup right now.
Here’s the actual code of that footer, now that I’m home and can get at the source:
Obviously I should fix that, since I’ve since lost douglas-adams.com.
Croiky!
I don’t feel like doing this again. Just short stuff this time.
Austria: Time to take up watching a certain Sean Penn movie about Vietnam.
Italy: Support Mar into Spa with Mao.
France: Persuade the German to attack Mar this turn. (Yeah right).
Germany: Mobilize your fleets toward England
England: Try to beat Germany to the North Sea
Turkey: Get Con into the Black Sea.
Russia: Take back Warsaw with Ukraine.
Here’s what we gots, folks:
