Okay, there must be something weird going on, because that didn’t work for me. Maybe the order in which you place units or issue orders messes things up.

I dunno, it works for me. As an experiment I put all four units on hold and tested to see what orders were listed for Venice. As far as I could tell, I got all possible valid orders, including F Ven S A Apu-Tri.

I use this site to handle adjudication: stabbeurfou.org

Sometimes, it’s just better, and faster, to write everything out.

So folks, I voted for a pause because I don’t understand why the moves were adjudicated the way they were.

Both England and I had 2 units in force on Denmark. My moves failed, but his succeeded even though they were equal strength. Is there a way to get an explanation here and potentially fix it if it is in error?

EDIT: Actually…I see what went wrong. I mis-entered my order so that it was supporting DEN–>SWE and not SWE–>DEN. I figure there’s no way to correct that mistake on my part?

You can always click on the order history to figure out what really happened. As you’ve figured out, you supported a move from Denmark to Sweden rather than the other way around. If you’re used to the FROM-TO format of moves, which is how orders are supposed to be written down, the way the UI requires you to enter TO then FROM when supporting a move is probably the most confusing thing about it. It was probably easier to program that way.

You can change the moves as many times as you want. But, if you hit Ready, and everyone else does, too, the game progresses, and your moves are locked.

Hey, guys. There’s talk about a pause for the holiday. Also, someone still hasn’t submitted any orders, with ~2 hours to go.

Please click pause if you haven’t already. Also, unclear what will happen this turn right now.

We have 5 of 7 players voting for a pause, but the count down has not stopped. We also have a site error that says orders will not be processed until the issue gets resolved. Again, the countdown is still proceeding so no idea what to expect about 45 minutes from now.

How do you see the count of votes?

ETA: Never mind. I get it now.

As you can see, the game has not progressed and messaging and orders are still free for editing. The error message implies that additional time will be added once the issue is fixed. With it being a holiday, I don’t know if that makes it more or less likely the fix will be made today or tomorrow.

So I guess we wait and see.

Great. More time for second guessing our orders. Let the plotting continue!

It looks like the server is back up over on the game site. Less than 40 minutes before this turn ends.

Game has progressed to retreats. Looks like “Pause” needs to be unanimous.

Kinda stupid, no? Single player can hold the game hostage which would be convenient if that player happened to be the one at war with the player requesting a pause. Could you imagine having a pause agreed to and then withdrawing your vote right before a deadline and making the game advance?

Are we going to have to wait two days for the game to summarily disband Italy’s last unit? The game should just recognize that a country has no more supply centers during build phase and disband their units on its own.

You all wanted two-day turns. This is it.

As I recall, I agreed to one day turns. Twice! Both games never got off the ground.

I agreed to one day turns, though I think two-day turns are a bit more manageable for me with my work and family schedules. I agree that there should be some logic in the game so we don’t have to wait for defeated players’ turns to expire. Shrug. The price of free stuff, I guess.

Worth it. Minor inconvenience to allow for actual conversations. The problem isn’t the 2 days, it’s players quitting and not using the ready button.
