Well I guess we aren’t going find out which kids are Dutch’s anytime soon. I was a little surprised that the twins are 25, I thought they were about 21. Juliet acts like she’s still in middle school. None of the Darlings seemed upset or even surpised when Brian acknowledged Gustav (what’s his real name ) was his son. Brian must have had a pretty crappy childhood. I’m a little confused about Simon Elder’s backstory. He’s black, yet grew up in the Soviet Union :dubious: ?
When the kid broke down and told the truth, didn’t he say that his name was Brian, Jr.?
I’m going to maintain that the twist of this season is the old soap standby: Dutch isn’t dead! He rigged the plane crash to escape his old life and start anew…
And it may be misdirection (probably is) but I thought this episode was pretty heavy handed in implicating the twins as most likely not Tripp’s.
I’m beginning to think they are going to KEEP being heavy handed implicating that all the kids might not be his and string this whole thing on for a while. I think it’s most interesting if Billy Baldwin isn’t his, but that’s just me. It seems like there is a lot of things you can do with him, he’s underused right now if you ask me.
Regarding Simon Elder. They said he was raised in Russia not born into a Russian family so I’m hoping we find out a little more about his childhood. He’s interesting and I’ve always liked Blair Underwood.
I REALLY like the twins. I think those two actors are doing a really great job.
The twins are his. They made that clear when Tripp made the comment early in the episode about how they were “different” and then Letitia gave a significant look. After Nick left, Letitia asked Tripp if he told Nick.
His real name is Brian Jr.
I like this show a lot. Good acting and lots of plot twists. The writers are doing a great job revealing just a bit more info each episode.
I think they are trying to keep us guessing as to which kids aren’t Tripp’s. When Patrick (the politician) said something mean about the engaged woman’s fiance, Tish said something like, “Don’t say that about your sister.” Then Tripp gave a weird look. So they are trying to make everyone look suspect.
My guess is that either none of the kids are Tripp’s or all of them are.
I think that Patrick is too old to be considered. Karen would be way too oogy (even for a 10pm show) given that she and Nick have been together romantically. Brian was my original choice since he hates Nick so much and that would have the most irony.
I’m still going with the twins.
