Discontinued food

Bummer. I can see how that would constrain your reference frames. Hope things get better.

Oh, Hell yes. They were insanely cheap too. I remember the KFC in my town sold them for 39 cents (this was in the early '90s).
The Snackers they’ve come up with the past the couple of years, though, are a pretty good, if not perfect, approximation.

Yes yes yes! Oh sure, the Carnation B’fast bars continued to exist, but in name only. The orignals were far better; I remember sneaking them out of the cupboards when I was a kid in the 80’s, they had a different taste, smell and texture than what abomination they became a decade later. :frowning:

I used to take them in my lunch in high school in the 80s. My mom would give me lunch money for the week, which I would squirrel away to buy liquorr on the weekends, so I would take a couple of Carnation Breakfast Bars and a couple of Handi Snacks and that was my lunch every school day for about 2 years. Good thing my mom provided us with healthful dinners and breakfasts - otherwise I might have died of scurvy by age 18.

Domino’s original Twisty Bread and “Goop” (garlic-butter blend).

Nehi Blue Creme Soda.

Sambo’s is still open!

I miss those too, in a rather queasy, bloated way.

I used to eat those for breakfast in 6th grade: I would of course eat them in an oval pattern, following the pastry shape, rather than just taking a bite out of the damn thing.

Emerald Nuts Dry-Roasted Walnuts. You can get them on line, but I liked it when I could actually find them at the store. So damn good.

That’s funny - I just mentioned this recently in a thread about stuff you bought because you saw it on a commercial. I remembered seeing a commercial for OJs cereal as a kid, dying to get some, and then being really upset that they tasted so bad. Sorry I didn’t like them better like you did, maybe they’d still be around

I really miss Wendy’s Frescatta sandwiches. I was so tickled to be able to get a COLD SANDWICH at a DRIVE THROUGH. Not a burger or a chicken patty. Lunch meat on a tasty bun, that I didn’t have to stand in line for (I’m looking at you Subway and Panera!)

Does Arby’s still have Market Fresh Sandwiches?

Yeah but their bread is stupid. And so is their bacon. And I hate their fries (sometimes I want Wendy’s fries with my fresh sandwich). And my local Arby’s is at a stupid intersection. I want Frescatta back!

Dammit, making me pine for something that had never crossed my mind. Now I want lunch meat on a tasty bun!

Little Caesar’s pizza. I know they still have a few chains, but they were SO BIG and are now so small.

Pepsi Throwback, how I miss thee.

I remember feeling that Quisp was made just for me. It was the only cereal I would ingest for a long, long time.

Do you all remember his lesser-known cousin, Quake?

How about King Vitaman?

Ditto.

Oh, yeah. I loved Quisp cereal. Quisp and Quake were rivals. I was a Quisp partisan. I mean, come on! He was a alien! With a ray gun! Quake was just a big guy. I also liked the ‘flying saucer’ shapes better than the ‘bricks’, or whatever they were supposed to be, that Quake cereal had. Same cereal, different shapes. But I remember liking Quisp better.

Of course, conversations about childhood cereals must have mention of Freakies. Here are some commercials.

Are the current version of Nacho Cheese that different from the original? I know they went with “Nacho Cheesier!” for like twn years, but thwy switched backto calling it just “Nacho Cheese,” so maybe they eased back on the flavor, too?

Oh, and also, this:

I have no idea what they taste like, and I never had “plain” Doritos back in the day, but I’m guessing it’s safe to assume they are close…I mean, “toasted corn” is just a nfacy way of saying plain Doiritos.

Wow. I didn’t know they still made these. I must needs hunt these down, I should.

I think they’re “new.” I don’t remember ever seeing plain ones, and never knew they existed until someone mentioned themed in a thread hewre a few years ago, but I just saw these about two weeks ago.
