Discussion for the Israel-Hamas War: A thread in the Pit

Yeah, right.

They ought to comply with international declarations, conventions, and resolutions granting the Palestinians’ right of return, and contribute to the establishment of a pluralistic, egalitarian and democratic state in all of Palestine for all the people therein.

Oh, wow, I can’t believe nobody thought of that before. Just establish a pluralistic, egalitarian, democratic society! You know, the way we did in Iraq and Afghanistan! It’s so simple, yet so obvious! Why hasn’t the global community seized on this idea sooner?

Drop in the ocean compared to what they get from China and Russia, I’m sure.

It’s not like the ANC is exactly secretive about who their friends are.

Wait, are the actions of a political party I don’t bend over backwards to be an apologist for while loudly disavowing support somehow supposed to reflect on me?

I learned a long time ago that anyone, Jewish or Gentile, who uses the word “goyim” in a manner that isn’t ironic or self-deprecating, is not a serious person and should not be taken seriously.

Or like Lebanon. Because that has worked so well for all the citizens of Lebanon.

Muslims, Christians, and Druze, all living in perfect harmony.

I’m sure they blame the Jews for the fact that they keep killing each other.

Obviously, if we just stop bombing them, they’ll get to gay

Until the pograms against the Jews in the mid 70s, there were a lot of Jews in Lebanon.

The global community is either indifferent to the conflict, support the ethnocracy there, or support the establishment of a theocracy in Palestine.

M’kay.

So, the global community doesn’t want this… And the locals don’t want it… But you, a complete outsider with a third grader’s understanding of the situation, have decided that it’s what is best for those people that live there, whether they want it or not…

There’s a term for that kind of behavior - colonialism.

There’s already a theocracy in Palestine. It’s called Hamas.

You mean, The Islamic Republic of Pakistan, which was formed around the same time as Israel, because the Islamic League in India didn’t want to live in a pluralistic, egalitarian and democratic state, but worked very hard to get an Islamic state?

It’s funny how this perspective can basically only come from either a hardcore zionist or a borderline antisemite. Horseshoe theory I guess.

Borderline? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

It’s funny how the anti-“zionists” like to sweep this one under the rug when they really just don’t like Jews. I like how @InfraBlue and @MrDibble won’t to respond to any questions about any of the other ethnostates since it violates their world view.

Or they’ll call Israel a “theocracy” while neglecting to mention how one of the world’s most powerful secular democracies recently held a church ceremony where the head of state was anointed with holy oil by a bishop and made to swear an oath that he was a Protestant, or how one of Europe’s economic powerhouses literally has a church tax that the government collects on behalf of your religious institution, or how their favorite enemy of the west, Russia, has essentially turned a large chunk of the Orthodox church into a propaganda arm of the regime.

No. Not everyone doesn’t want it. You suffer from reading comprehension difficulties. It is imperative that you and the global community be relieved of your apathy, ignorance, cynicism, and resentment and shown the better course for your own good.

They want its establishment in all of Palestine.

That’s a question for Zionists. How is it “borderline antisemite,” exactly?
