That is a really ugly thing to say about a group of human beings. Even about human beings who are each individually culpable of something bad. And Gazans, whether or not you consider them an ethnicity, are not defined by their actions but by accidents of birth and residence. Gazans are a group of human beings with widely varying backgrounds. There are newborn Gazans, and pacifist Gazans. There are lots of Gazans who aren’t culpable of anything deserving death.
Even Israel claims that every Gazan that they target is guilty of something, and that the others are innocent bystanders. Israel may be lying, but they know that they don’t want to admit to genocide.

War is hell, war is terrible, war is sad, and there is always too much death. But if you’re looking for the story, try to see the whole truth. There’s just a little bit of room to blame the Hamas terrorists here, too. The terrorists in the hospital building almost outnumber the patients.

…as someone who has been reading daily updates as to what has been happening at Kamal Adwan, here’s a little fact or two that might just interest a few people:
chappachula is telling lies.
I don’t know if its because they are gullible, or just fucking stupid. But Kamal Adwan has been under siege multiple times. In fact: its been under siege so many times the sieges have their own wikipedia page.
Yesterday wasn’t the first time the hospital had been raided. It was raided on December the 12th last year. The generators were destroyed by the IDF in May. It was raided again on October 25th. The IDF claimed back then that they had “captured 100 militants” They also detained the hospital director Dr Hussam Abu Safiya. When they released, he found that the IDF had murdered his 15-year-old son.
On the 30th November the head of the ICU was targeted and killed by drone. He was passing through the main gates.
The hospital has been repeatedly shot at, bombed, raided, and been under siege multiple times since the start of the war. They’ve been able to kill with impunity. Drones have targeted and killed people through windows or walking through gates. And yet: chappachula also wants you to believe that this hospital, where the IDF have killed the 15-year-old son of the director and killed the head of the ICU as they walked through the gates, also had 250 terrorists running around firing rockets. Is that a believable claim?
But look at the article that chappachula links too. It only shows a video and a photo of a couple of handguns and some knives.
250 terrorists. “The terrorists almost outnumber the patients” claims chappachula. But they only had a couple of handguns to go around. Again: does that sound believable? Not even a single assault rifle?
And despite the multiple raids and the drones and the snipers and the siege the IDF were so incompetent they just kept missing those terrorists for the last year. They raided the hospital just weeks ago. And after they left, it remained under siege. Completely surrounded. Drones buzzing overhead. Yet somehow, 250 terrorist managed to sneak back into the hospital for some godforsaken reason. Right under the IDF’s noses.
We all knew another, probably final, raid was coming. And the hospital has been the daily target of bombings and sniper fire. So why would 250 terrorists decide to congregate at the hospital? Were they just chilling, hanging out, with their two handguns and a handful of knives? What was the strategy here? Israel have shown zero hesitation attacking and shutting down hospitals. So why would “terrorists” take shelter en masse in such an obvious target?
We aren’t fucking stupid chappachula. It was a hospital. Protected by the Geneva conventions and international humanitarian law. Hospitals can lose their protection if they are committing acts that are “harmful to the enemy.” But there is no evidence…absolutely none at all, that this was happening at this hospital, or any of the other hospitals in Gaza.
This was a warcrime by the IDF. The “terrorists” that were taken away will not be held in accordance with the Geneva conventions. Family will not be able to communicate with them. Most will be “disappeared”, some may get randomly released over the next few months with stories of beatings and torture.

I mean: how heartless do you have to be to not worry about that hospital? There are thousands of Palestinians trapped in the north. Not only are they still being bombed and shot at but people still get sick, have cancer, get Covid, have babies, and all the other things that people need to go to hospital for.
What exactly, after the shutting down of the last major health facility in the north, are you expecting these people to do? Where do the people that need chemo go?
Again: are you gullible, or are you just fucking stupid? How could they be “posing” as journalists when they’ve been reporting on the entirety of the war?
I’d ask for evidence: but the IDF have been doctoring evidence and openly lying since the start of this conflict. Not that they have anything here. A graphic released by the IDF with a bunch of photos and the word “eliminated” isn’t very impressive. You would have to be fucking stupid to just accept those claims on face value.
“The IDF says they were terrorists” isn’t the masterful argument you seem to think it is.

I trust the IDF as much as I trust Hamas (not at all). When you say you’re being attacked with anti-tank missiles and show…two pistols and some change (literally change) as weapons seized, it’s hard to believe.
The ideal number of handguns in a hospital is zero.

It can “boost staff confidence and morale!”
Hospitals are allowed, under international humanitarian law, to store weapons removed from combatants being treated at the hospital. And security guards, as we can see in the United States, are also allowed to be armed. So unfortunately, no matter what you consider to be the “ideal number of handguns” in a hospital, the consensus, especially in the US, is very different.
Sounds like an acknowledgement that the hospital was harboring combatants to me.
…hospitals are allowed to treat combatants. It’s part of what hospitals do.
