Disney pulls Merida (or, People With Too Much Time On Their Hands)

It looks like Pocahontas is the only one who hasn’t been at least slightly redesigned for the princess line. It seems kind of sad, like she got pranked by the other princesses who told her “Oh, it’s going to be really casual, just come as you are!” before running off to get their hair done and put on their sparkliest ballgowns.

Really though, I don’t get why Disney wants to make their own characters look different than they did in the actual movies. Some of them do look basically the same but with more sparkles, but I saw those early '90s movies many times and I’m pretty sure that Ariel never wore that dress, Belle never had Snooki hair, and Jasmine didn’t have lace or chiffon or whatever draped all over her outfit.

The real issue is the unrealistic waist size. Did they all get ribs removed?

Also, they really need to find a princess with less hair than head.

Also, where’s Storm? She’s an African princess, you know!
