Disneyland ride layouts

Does anyone know where I can find layouts (floorplans, diagrams) of rides at Disneyland? I’m looking for something that shows the path the ride takes and the locations of the major parts of it. Specifically I’d like these:

  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Haunted Mansion
  • It’s a Small World

They don’t have to be tremendously detailed, though detail wouldn’t be bad. I found a website that has blueprints available, but they seem a bit too detailed. Besides, they’re $15/each, which is more than I want to spend on the project I need them for (an RPG adventure).

Thanks in advance!

You probably won’t get them unless you cajole an employee into getting them for you.

They are most likely considered trade secrets and closely held.

You could go ride 'em a bunch of times and do your best!

It’s a Small Word is pretty simple. It’s just a loop. The boats aren’t raised or lowered. The only fancy part of it is at the end where there is a mechanism to ensure that a lot of the boats don’t back up one side of the loading dock.

Pirates of the Caribbean is a tremendously complex ride with all of its animatronics. It has two small drops at the beginning and then a long climb at the end. But the path the boats take has a lot of twits and turns so you can see all the various scenes.

The Haunted Mansion would be relatively difficult to figure out as well without blueprints.

You start in an elevator and you drop about one floor. Then you walk across a room and in to the “Doom Buggies” and they go up and down and around so you can see all the scenes as well.

I actually just found one for the Haunted Mansion–not too detailed, but enough for my purposes. Thanks for the info about Small World–I didn’t realize it was just a loop.

I think the Pirates might be the hard one. I might have to spring for the blueprints after all.

Thanks, Walloon–that first one was the site I found, but I simul-posted with you.

Not sure if you know of anyone that works for the company, but the 2 departments to check would be the Imagineers (the people who come up with ride concepts) and the industrial engineers who do a lot of work in building traffic flow. They do a lot of computerized simulations of layouts to see where bottlenecks and potential issues might be.

which website did you see the blueprints for sale on? i wouldnt mind getting some of those myself!

It was here. Go back a page for ordering info.
