Disposition (for want of a better word) of Trophies and other awards in organised spiorts

What happens to trophies which are given out to winners in sports.

From what I can tell.

FIFA World Cup: Trophy is always with FIFA. Winner keeps a gold plated replica

ICC Cricket World Cup: Trophy is always with ICC. Winner gets a replica which is identical except for the fact that the winners name is engraved on it.

UEFA Champions League: Since 2009 same as the Cricket, but before 2009 trophy was returned after 6 months and club was permitted to make 80% replica.

Tennis: Original trophies for majors are always with the organising bodies. Winners take home smaller replicas; US Open gives same size replicas, but plated(?) replicas.

Golf: Masters jacket belongs to the winner. No idea about other majors.

In US Sports I think a new trophy of the same or similar pattern is cast for every year. (correct me here please US dopers).
In boxing don’t former Champions always keep their belts even after they lose the title? I think the new champion uses the ex-champions belt for the immdiet celebration and post fight interviews and then returns it; gets his own later.

Individual awards in team sports seem to be for keep.

Any others?

Gah, Organised “sports”. Damn typo.

There is only the one Stanley Cup.

(There are three physical cups, but one is retired and one is a display substitute. Only one is the trophy, as such.)

What does the team get? A replica or some other item to denote their victorious campaign?

The team gets to keep the cup for the year. The names of the players on the winning team are engraved on five barrel rings below the cup. There are five rings at any time and once one id filled, it is removed to the hockey hall of fame and a new one is added.

A new trophy is made every year in ML baseball (Commissioner’s Trophy), football (Vince Lombardi Trophy), and basketball (Larry O’Brien Trophy).

Pretty sure that the winner of The Open gets to keep the claret jug for a year.

The Ashes winners get to hold up a replica, the original is too fragile to handle.
