DIY and Hobby projects, small to big. Pictures of course

I LOVE making tabletop game minis! My biggest problem is I don’t play and don’t know anyone who does. Does that make me weird?

Here’s an Ice Dice tower I made a couple of years back.

LOL

The fun part is we use so many different techniques.
I print some figures and scenery. I’ve made a bunch of stuff out of wood.
That tower in the front of the picture is an Oatmeal contained. The trees my daughter made with a low heat clay and some bits from the craft store.
Some horses are D&D and some are Dollar Store. Figures are mostly D&D, but some printed and some for other games and modded for D&D.

That is very cool looking. What did you make it from?

An oatmeal container! Also foam, wood, resin and other assorted garbage. Like you do.

Love it. That’s the most fun.

Beautiful work all!
I tried my first hand at knotting.
Imgur
I’m going to add a few jump rings and a clasp and it’ll be a bracelet .

I do the same thing.

Now that I have kids, they like to use blocks and stuff they buy to make castles etc., so now I give the figures to the kids to play with for the most part.

Beautiful! I tried my hand at chainmail but I’m mentally incapable of following complex patterns.

I’m sure you’ll get many compliments. Beautiful work!

That’s lovely!

Thanks

Nice job! Always feels good to have everything in the brakes new. In the old car hobby I always tell my buddies that if I screw up the drivetrain the worst that will happen is I roll to the side of the road and call a towtruck. If I screw up the brakes I can get killed.
I did this same thing for my 2001 Mustang when it hit 100K miles. The only thing I did wrong was to allow brake fluid to drain from the lines, and I did not bench-bleed the master cylinder. I drove it to my mechanic and he finished the job and replaced the parking brake cable as well. That job is hateful BTW. Good luck! SB

It has been a bit. Mainly small fixes and the like. But I found a lack of Sahuagin miniatures and so yesterday I printed a set of 9 and just finished the first pass at painting them for use a few minutes ago.

9 Minis fast and easy. A few printing issues as I kept them small, only 31mm.
At least 2 broken tails and one broken trident tine. But overall they printed very well.

Everybody’s using 3D printers and I’m still to intimidated by a Cricut to use one. I’m such a chicken.

Here’s a Christmas present in progress. Waiting for forstner bit to arrive to make tealight holes in the wood. I may or may not make actual tealight sized candles to go along with the mini-candles I made. Or I may just buy LED ones. We’ll see how much time I have.

This past summer I bought a couple vintage meters at a garage sale, one is a multimeter, the other was strictly a volt meter. Paid $1 for each one. Neither worked, the multimeter has some corrosion on a couple big capacitors and the volt meter was missing the specialized leads. I have had some success selling Steampunk style lamps made from iron pipe, I figured these might make some cool lamps too. I put a flush mount light socket on the multimeter, removed some crusty bits from the inside, added a new retro style cord and replaced the defective power switch. The volt meter got a top mount light socket, new power cord and a light bulb cage. Both use the meter’s power switch to turn on the lights. Listed them of FB marketplace a couple times with no takers.

Pretty cool! What laser are you using? I have a 10w diode that I have done a few projects on, mostly Christmas ornaments at the moment.

Racer, I’m not seeing your pics. Is anyone else not seeing them?

I can’t see them either.

Done on my 10w
