I bought it at Safeco Field (Mariners) last year. It’s in an oversized bag (with correspondingly oversized prices) and the same lame “prize” as the regular kind.
Every major league park I have been to sells it. I have been to ball games in Montreal, Toronto, Philadelphia, New York, Cleveland, Detroit, Seattle, and San Diego.
I suspect every Major league ball park sells it, and probably all the A, AA, and AAA park as well. Can anyone point to a park that doesn’t?
ETA: I’ve never bought it though. If it’s not in the rectangular cardboard box of my youth, it’s not Cracker Jack to me…
I’ve bought it at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
You’re making me feel old. They’ve only been playing since 1998.
Sadly, though the version in the cardboard box has really cheesy “prizes” in it. They’re usually some sort of paper puzzle or riddle that looks like it cost a hundredth of a penny. (Perhaps they’re afraid of the choking hazard if they included anything really interesting.) And the box contains mostly popcorn with a pathetic amount of peanuts at the bottom of the box.
Do they still sell it in the box? I’ve only seen it in plastic bags in the last couple decades.
I know what you mean about the paper prizes, but they went to those when I was still a kid.
Fenway Park has a handy concessions guide on their website. It lists the places in the park where you can find Cracker Jacks:
A couple of years back, I was at Fenway sitting in front of Stephen King. (needless to say, very good seats) Anyway, not only did he buy Cracker Jacks that day, but I had to pleasure of explaining to the “Master of the Macabre” that he needed to wet the back of his temporary tattoo in order for it to work.
