Do bald men get dandruff?

This question has been bugging me for the last few weeks so I figured this website was the place to ask.

Oh! hi btw.

well it seems we have a debate. This guy says yes.

“Dandruff is caused by bacteria, yeast and fungi on the scalp…”

But these folks say
“Dandruff is associated with fewer cell layers in the outer most portion of the epidermis, however the cells are often irregular and display a rapid turnover rate. The reason for the rapid turnover is uncertain. For many years dandruff has been associated with the presence of yeast/fungi of the genus Malassezia or Pityrosporum. At this time, the species Pityrosporum ovale is considered the main causative agent, although some investigators argue that the altered flora of the scalp is secondary to increased epidermal proliferation.”

so my answer is… Hell if I know.

Welcome to the Boards TRUE!

as for your question…I have NO idea…

So what that link says is, only filthy disgusting bald men get dandruff. I guess it makes sense.

Thanks for the welcome Meatros.

It seems that we have no bald men on SDMB. What a lot of handsome devils we are!

I just wanted to say Welcome! to TRUE CANADIAN. I see from the two questions threads that you have opened (that I noticed) that you wonder about the same types of things I do, and I look forward to more of your threads.

Uh, Toadspittle - do you mean that bald = NOT handsome? I resemble that remark! And, to the OP - when we get it, bald men only get dandruff where we have hair. Including beard. At least this one does.
