Do bragging parents drive you nuts? Then don't read this thread!

Inpsired by a few posts in the Tell Me About Your Marriage Thread, I figured I’d start this thread for blatant bragging about kids.

I happen to have 3 wonderful kids. The latest example of just how compassionate they are was last weekend when they were visiting me. We’d stayed up late on Friday night, and so by the time we went to bed, I was pretty tired. I woke up on Saturday morning at 9:30 am. I was floored. The baby was still asleep next to me, so I went to check on the other two. (It was 9:30, I was thinking they had tied each other to chairs or something.) I snuck into the living room to find them sitting quietly on the couch, talking. Not even watching tv (I found out later that they couldn’t figure out how to turn it on), just sitting there. Talking. When they realized I was behind them, they turned around, and my son said, in a seriously crestfallen tone, “Mooom, we wanted to let you sleep late!”

They’re the best kids ever.

(There are many more examples, of course, but this is the most recent  )

What great kids! How sweet of them to think of you.

My 5½ y.o. can be tremendously thoughtful. Recently I was suffering from a migraine. I told him I was going to take a nap, but to come get me if there was anything he needed. Well, he managed to let me sleep for like 3½ hrs. He made himself a sandwich and some chocolate milk (and cleaned up!), watched a movie and played with his toys and never once disturbed me. When I asked him about it, he just said he wanted me to get all better.

I have the best little boy ever!

My daughter is only 15 months, so she can’t do a lot of the things that you guys have mentioned (Although she always lets me sleep late! Yay Emma!)
She seems to have learned so many new things in the past few weeks, though. She’s started spinning around in a circle whenever she is very pleased about something, and dances around, shaking her little butt and moving her shoulders and arms whenever she hears music. Instead of just pulling her blanket in front of her face when I saw “Where’s Emma?” she’ll pull it over the top of her head and then run around until she falls over something. Also, when I crawl around and chase her, when I get close she’ll just sit down and brace herself to be tickled instead of running away. I know, it’s not big stuff, but it’s fun stuff.
BTW: What kind of a mom of a 15 month old would I be without pulling out at least one picture. She’s cute too! http://www.stellaluna.org/lj/0517/1.jpg

What a cutie! (One of mine is an Emma, too) Compassionate kids, fun kids… Hey, they’re all great kids  And seriously, those first years are just the greatest, and probably the most brag-inspiring. (“She said a full sentence!”) It’s especially cool when they break out of the newborn mold and start showing signs of personality… For better or worse!
