Do Catholic's face discrimination in the US?

Bricker: As it turns out, it doesn’t matter that Milum is out of date. What he offered up as proof of his assertion had nothing to do with his assertion.

Milum: The way you debate in Alabama isn’t the way most people debate in Alabama. From my experience with debating folks from the Heart of Dixie, most folks told the truth.

nope.
Yer still young, dude.

Cite?

And since, in fact, the church members were practically calling for blood when this story broke, I am left wondering who exactly, aside from the perpetrators, are “ok” with sex abuse?

Such as? I don’t recall any Catholic preachers up there teling the world that XXX group is bound for hell.

Given the immense lack of control n people’s lives the RCC has, I must wonder exactly where you got this impression.

I’s a bit silly, smiling bandit, to ask for a cite for something that’s clearly stated to be a personal opinion.

If I said “I personally prefer the taste of fish over the taste of chicken”, you couldn’t reasonably expect me to provide any kind of cite for that.

Yes, but he doesn’t even give a reason why. He’s accusing a whole group in a rather unpleasant manner and isn’t even bothering to tell me why, and why he includes Catholics.

Mine was only a minor point of order, smiling bandit.

I didn’t object to anything else you said about TearsOfGlass’s rant.

[Insert your own depressing-ounding Spanish saying or Latin quote]

How many Catholics does it take to change a light bulb?

Three! . . . But they’re really only one.

No, that’s not what was said.

A value judgement was made here, but no moral judgement based on dogma (i.e. the post does not call anyone, even the Roman Catholic Church, “evil”.)

There is no hypocricy in proclaiming dislike for those who make moral judgements based on dogma. If there had been a claim in the parent post that others were morally wrong or evil Bricker might have had a point.

As it is, Bricker is being sarcastic to a strawman.

Gotcha.
