Do Catholic's face discrimination in the US?

I personally dislike pretty much all religions because, to methey seem to do nothing, but convince people that they deserve better treatment then others, that others not like them should be punished, and the like.

I really dislike the Catholics though for a lot of reasons. For one thing, the pope is a joke. He has been calling for peace and such in the world, which I agree with, but he seems to find it ok that other’s in his sect are ok with molesting alter boys and the like.

And since, in fact, the church members were practically calling for blood when this story broke, I am left wondering who exactly, aside from the perpetrators, are “ok” with sex abuse?

Also, I tend to see the Catholics as a large hate group at times. Sometimes, it seems that all they are out to do, is tell others that their ways are wrong and evil, just because they don’t agree with everything they say.

Such as? I don’t recall any Catholic preachers up there teling the world that XXX group is bound for hell.

I don’t believe in a “God” myself so, in my opinon the Catholics are just following a small group of people, including the pope, who want to control people’s lives.

Given the immense lack of control n people’s lives the RCC has, I must wonder exactly where you got this impression.

If I said “I personally prefer the taste of fish over the taste of chicken”, you couldn’t reasonably expect me to provide any kind of cite for that.

Yes, but he doesn’t even give a reason why. He’s accusing a whole group in a rather unpleasant manner and isn’t even bothering to tell me why, and why he includes Catholics.

A value judgement was made here, but no moral judgement based on dogma (i.e. the post does not call anyone, even the Roman Catholic Church, “evil”.)

There is no hypocricy in proclaiming dislike for those who make moral judgements based on dogma. If there had been a claim in the parent post that others were morally wrong or evil Bricker might have had a point.

As it is, Bricker is being sarcastic to a strawman.
