Do gay people believe George Clooney is gay (and beards in 2016)

Yea, I don’t really even get the theory. Maybe twenty years ago it’d make sense for him to enter a sham marraige to hide his putative homosexuality. But in 2014? The extent that the public cares if leading men are gay now is pretty small, and to the the extent that they do, Clooney’s way to established for it to do much damage to his career now.

Plus Amal Clooney seems a pretty implausible pick for a beard.

I always assumed that two-way beards was the most common situation. It just seems logical: you both have a reason you can’t have a public relationship with someone who you really are attracted to. And you both have reasons not to out the other that would last well past the end of the relationship, without any sort of contract that would require getting other people involved. (The more people involved, the more likely you will be outed.)

I mean, I’ve even heard beard allegations because people think the beard is gay. (I wish I could remember who off the top of my head.)

Joel Grey just released a new memoir. While he now identifies as gay and is now open he was closeted for most of his life (he was born in 1932). However, he says that the two decades when he was married to his wife and raising their children was the happiest time of his life and he considers it very much a “real” marriage.

By this gay person’s reckoning…
Attractive? You bet! Gay? Not likely. (Possibly a Kinsey 1 or 2).
Way too mellow about the issue.

Clooney gay? No way. He’s like the Rock Hudson of my generation.

what?..

I’ve lost count of the times I’ve had sex with Hugh Jackman and I still don’t know whether or not he’s gay. He’s always singing after, but then he’s always singing before and during as well.

A surprise to…no one! Surprised that Liza Minelli, who has zero gaydar, didn’t hit on him, lol! … Mr. Grey must be ‘bi’ as I’ve known a couple of gay gents married to women, very happily, kids and everything, for several years. I don’t know if they got sumpin’ sumpin’ on the side, or just wanted a woman to take care of them at the end of life. (don’t get much of that on Grindr or pickups at the gay bar in the next town). But we are talking about ‘beards’, and they exist at every level of society.
