Another vote for subtlety and as little as possible. That being said, I’ve seen some women who look fantastic in strong lipstick, but it’s not common. I haven’t kissed any of them, so I don’t know what it would be like.
Same goes with clothes.
I don’t like lipstick and neither does Ardred. If he wanted a girl who wore makeup, he wouldn’t have chosen me.
I will wear some of this stuff because it smells and tastes wonderful.
It’s also rather dry, so I put chapstick on top and I have no kissing issues, as all he gets is chapstick rather than color.
What about flavored lip gloss? Men don’t like that either?

I’ll play the simpleton here. If you’re a woman I’m going to kiss, lipstick is not a problem.
IANAM, but I have kissed women. Personally I like the way lipstick looks, but it tastes gross if you kiss someone with it on. I was partial to flavored glosses, but then I kissed a woman who wore a coconut-flavored kind. Yuck! Ptui!
This may just be me, but I have a “thing” about waxy, oily substances on my skin. My “thing” is, I hate it. I have some kind of disease or something. Lotion? Blagh. Sunscreen (even though I need it baaaad)? Bleeagh! Lip goop? Gaagh! I don’t care what flavor it is; it’s gacky.
I enjoy any opportunity to kiss a womans lips, and she is welcome to tend to her makeup, too- once we’re done.
Don’t like it. And I prefer girls without makeup.
Interestingly, my girlfriend doesn’t like me kissing her when she has lipstick on. Because then she has to reapply it.
You really do have to let it dry all the way, and take it off with makeup remover if you need to reapply.
The second is what you like. Really. I used to date a guy who was always nagging me about makeup. The only problem is that I am one small gene away from albino, so if I don’t wear any base people think I’m a battered woman. Is there something else going on? Like it makes you insecure if we look good, or it’s a sign of vulnerability to be barefaced, or what?
I think I’ve only dated one guy who ever asked me to get more made up, and his idea of a good time was a Gap clearance sale.
Really obvious makeup is often unattractive, and only looks good in nightclubs. A little pink looks nice on my wife’s lips, though. I like kissing her a lot better when she’s not wearing lipstick that comes off on me, but a little gloss or completely set lipstick does no harm.
And, of course, lipstick can look great on someone you’ll never get to kiss!
There’s a way to kiss her lips without messing up her lipstick…
:smack:
I’m giving this one the golf clap it deserves

Yes. Very good indeed. Oh…lipstick? NO No no no… Listen. Clowns wear makeup. I know of exactly 0 men who are not freaked out by clowns. Men are simple creatures.
** Ergo: Lipstick = Pennywise**.
If that’s the impression you’re trying to make, then might I suggest foundation and full on facial makeup (don’t forget the creepy eyeshadow either!). Bleah.
You’d get better attraction results by smearing your face in human blood. At least then you’d taste like a steak…er…I mean, so I’ve heard. Count me in as a NO MAKE UP AT ALL guy. Makes me look even harder for the zit you’re trying to hide. Contrary to what Cosmo or Elle may tell you, there is no way to apply makeup without assuming some degree of whoredom. Not that that’s a BAD thing, just sayin’.
Lipstick, like all make up looks good, but doesn’t feel so great. I vastly prefer kissing lips with nothing on them, but any lips are better to none.
Ladies, take note. My very unofficial statistical analysis of this thread indicates that the average male prefers to kiss lips without lipstick. There is also a distinct correlation in the data that indicates he will be happy if you just show up.
Uh… how many men would you say you kiss in an average day? Just curious.
What about moisturizing lipstick? Those are generally good.
My Og, no!
It’s the taste. Damn some of that stuff is foul. And if they are not foul tasting, they certainly don’t taste good.
Of course, you don’t taste it until afer the kiss, but damn!
My boyfriend likes the taste of lipstick. So, there’s at least one.
Regarding lipstains: Do they really stay on all day, without wiping off on food or napkins or anything? I’d love to find something that I didn’t have to reapply after eating.
