Do mod warnings apply everywhere?

Do moderator warnings apply to all sections of the board? Meaning… if a moderator announces that someone is a sneeze away from a banning in one part of the board, are they that close to a banning in the other parts?

IANAM but I’m going to go ahead and say yes. In fact, I’d bet it’s happened more than a few times.

Thanks Silver Fire, I appreciate it.

Yes, Necro Romancer, warnings apply across all forums. All warnings are documented centrally.

If you believe you have a strong case that we may have overlooked, send us an email and we’ll review it.

So, what you’re really asking is, “If Mommy says NO!, should I ask Daddy?”

… and the answer is what xash says: Moderators talk amongst ourselves and document (internally) warnings and alerts.

To clarify further, it’s not possible to be banned from one part of the board at a time. Or rather, it might conceivably be possible, but it’s never done here. Banned in one forum is banned in them all.

No.

Thanks everyone.

It’s possible to do this from the admin control panel. I can allow and disallow someone into various forums. I’ve only done this once, though, when someone decided he didn’t want to be tempted to post in the Pit. I don’t think that anyone else has had his forum permissions altered like that. In every other instance, if I ban someone, I ban him from the SDMB as a whole, as they’re being jerkish enough that we don’t want them on ANY board.
