I know house flies can, because they eat dung.
But what about moth flies (aka drain flies)?
They eat stuff in the sewer drains, I think. At least that’s where they breed.
But some kinds of moths don’t eat at all, not having mouth parts, and just mate and die.
Since I never see larvae, I don’t care about them, just the flying form.
