The only people who will find it uplifting are those who are already “saved”( or think they are).
Everyone else(who have heard about Jesus and God since day one) won’t find it new or inspirational. Rather, it’s lazy as hell “witnessing” which does nothing to win converts but makes certain Christians feel they’re doing their duty while making no effort whatsoever.
No. No one, REPEAT NO ONE, has stated that you have to begin swearing. Don’t try that misdirection tactic.
This community does not desire the use of a standard signature such as yours. That has been clearly communicated to you in this thread and others. Yet you choose to continue to GBYA and smiley.
This proves that you do not care to adapt to the community. Can you give any justification for continuing to use it when the community standards are clearly telling you to cease and desist.
Notice, not one profanity in this post. So can you please address my question? And, no, I will not accept a misdirection like you attempted above.
^^^ I don’t see anything wrong with how I am, but if you do, use the ignore feature that this forum has. Maybe people like me are the reason why it exists. I don’t know. All that I know is that its here, so why let it go to waste?
God bless you always!!!

Holly
So to be clear here. You accept that your sign-off violates the desire of this community, and yet you refuse to change.
Yes or no, do you agree with this statement.
I’ll say this, too: when people try to engage you in discussion and you ignore those just so you can tell another person “why not just ignore li’l ol’ me?” it only makes people think you’re being insincere.x
May Jesus smite you for putting me on ignore. Hehehe.
Here’s another interesting thing I’ve noticed about all this… several people, I we the course of both threads, have tried polite discourse with her. They’ve been kind, haven’t resorted to childish insults or name calling, haven’t used profanity and have attempted to get her to understand that she’s doing more harm to her cause (be that James Otto’s career, Christianity, or staying a member of good standing on this board), and she has roundly ignored all of them and instead has pithily replied that users can ignore instead.
And that doesn’t make sense to me. If my goal is to sell cars, doing something that makes that not happen (say, maybe wearing my favorite suit that everyone else hates or acting overly friendly to the customers in such a way as to make them uncomfortable) defeats my purpose. So, we’ve had many a poster who has had a rocky beginning here at the Dope. She could be no different than those who insisted on using all purple font or were so argumentative that they racked up several warnings right off the bat. Yet, they adapted and eventually became a contributing member of the board.
All that it would take is for her to back off the over-the-top sign off (or put it in the signature line) and stop posting inanities in these threads. Ideally, she could also learn that while it’s perfectly within her rights to feel that suicides are going to hell, she needs to save that sentiment for threads about that subject. Beyond that, no one would care. She’d just become another poster here and all of this would be ancient history.
But, I have no more belief that she’d heed this suggestion than any others. I’m sure it’ll be another chorus of what we’ve all heard for forty pages.
< shrug > I say then, let the pieces fall where they may.
Which tends to prove my Deliberate Troll hypothesis.
Yep.
It’s been pointed out and linked to that she does the exact same thing with the exact same sign off on at least four different message boards, a PETA board, a Country Music focusing on JO board, and what seems like a general messageboard and a fourth I forget at the moment, since at least 2010.
At the country music board one she has a thread that’s a year or so old and it’s pretty much just her posting to videos and interviews of JO. Besides a few posters poppig in to say WTF and poke her it’s just her updating the thread with new videos and interviews for over a year. Even though it’s pretty much just her she still sign her posts off with the god bless and smileys.
So if she is delibertely trolling she’s been doing it long before she came here and in places where she didn’t even really have an audience.
I think she gets that we are offended, what I’m not sure she will ever understand is why it’s offensive. She strikes me as one of those people who is unable to believe that there is any “truth” other than the ones she believes, so therefore anyone who disagrees just needs to have it explained to them.
Example? I’ve only read the posts in here, not in the suicide thread.

Ah. I was almost a decade earlier, on the other side of the country.
I didn’t say a thing about that - many places just ignore employee theft, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t stealing.
How do you know? If you knock off your signature, I’ll knock off the swearing. Not that my swearing is bothering anyone else here, and your signature is bothering the vast majority, but hey let’s see if you’ll actually do it or if you’ll just wiggle out of it.
I met you more than halfway a long time ago, and you responded with immature, self centered, egocentric, fake garbage like “put me on ignore” rather than manning up and being a responsible member of this society. Explain to me why I should even be polite to you, not to mention not swear at you?
You don’t have to get it, you just need to understand that other people’s opinions count as much if not more than yours.
She’s a PETA supporter???
**Drunky Smurf: **I’m curious about the others. That sounds innocuous enough and I’m willing to consider the possibility that SDMB is a special case from what I’ve seen of it. It certainly seems to be for a host of reasons, most of them very good in my humble opinion and few if any of which would justify her “behavior.”
But I recall it being mentioned that she was banned from one or more places. Perhaps I’m thinking of JO’s facebook page but then I think I read that she denies this, so I don’t know. Some brief background would be appreciated. I’m not so interested that I will spend a lot of time chasing down and reading dozens of cascading links and I’m happy with a sentence or 2 on the sites that seem to have been her focus. I hope my request is not presumptuous.
Where did you find me at a PETA forum? Right now I don’t remember ever going to one.
My getting online is not stealing because the WI-FI is there for everyone. When workers are not on the clock, they are considered just another customer. I know because my boss has actually told me that we are.
God bless you two and James always!!!

Holly, how do you find the message boards that you join normally? How did you find this one and how did you end up on message boards as diverse as a blu-ray forum (do you own a blu-ray player?) or City-Data?
Do you just google “Message Boards” and take whatever you can find?
Out of that whole post, that is what you respond to? Yeah, I didn’t think you’d agree to stop with your signature just because someone asked, not even to get something (you say) you want.
I’m scratching my head over the disconnect between “I’m new here but I’ll do whatever I want, I don’t care what anyone thinks or how things work, and if you don’t like it it’s your responsibility to ignore me because I don’t need to pay attention to you” and
Then your boss is an idiot. A customer is someone who pays for service. The owner of the particular franchise at which you work very well may have decided that it’s okay for workers who are on their meal break use the service, but I find it quite unlikely that any boss at any restaurant in the world has decided the same for a “coffee” break since that break is generally too short for meaningful 'net surfing. If the owner has decided that it’s okay for you to use the wi-fi there during your mea breaks, that would’ve been explained along with other corporate policies. As it is now, the evidence is that corporate considers free-wifi to be a service to paying customers. Don’t worry, I’m willing to be proven incorrect.
Now, I have worked in areas where the boss may require workers to work through meal breaks. Such an action required an extraordinary level of proof, extra pay, and/or reduced working hours for the worker subjected to missing breaks. In none of those areas was the boss required, to the best of my recollection, to provide a meal to the worker. If the law in your area or the policy instituted by the owner of the franchise where you work happens to have them providing you a meal, then you’re lucky. And, of course, you’re still abusing the privilege (one more thing that you have likely confused with a right) as you’re posting left and right from work. If your posts made from work are just during your meal breaks, well, you sure have an…interesting meal schedule.
People, people, you really believe it when JOSH says she has a job at all? She’s obviously a pretty creative poster, I’m sure she’s made all that up, about the wifi and such.
^^^ Everything that I tell y’all is true.

I have gone to Google, but when I did, I put country music message forum in the search spot.
