I wonder if that name has anything to do with the sea serpent, Jörmungandr. That would certainly explain why it’s slang for penis.

Actually, the name is derived from the Biblical Hebrew name Jeremiah, and is Eastern in origin in Finland. As such, as far from Norse mythology as can reasonably be
