Do partners of lactating women suckle?

This thread: How old could someone live on only human milk? - Factual Questions - Straight Dope Message Board

got me wondering: is it common for the partners of lactating women to suckle? Suckling is a common sexual practice when a woman is not lactating, but how common is it for a lactating woman’s partner to actually draw milk out of a breast?

One of my friends’ husbands gave her milk a try. Said it was like watery cow’s milk.

I Imagine a lot of us have to try it out. I never met anyone who made a practice out of it, or admitted to it.

Three kids. Three opportunities. But I never was that curious to try. I prefer beer.

Since most responses to this are likely to be anecdotal, let’s move it over to IMHO (tempting as it is to move it to Cafe Society;))

I am looking for for studies or other research on this as opposed to anecdotal stories.

Also, I don’t just mean tasting the breast milk (like out of a bottle), I mean actually sucking out of the breast.

With both of my wives, while breast feeding (or lactating in general), boobs were off limits for non-nutritional purposes.

You need to find a girlfriend who gives beer.

In another recent thread, we established that if you cross a cow with a chicken and raise the babies by feeding them cinnamon pine cones, they will give egg nog. So you can see, with some experimentation, the possibilities are endless.

This guy tried it (Scroll down)

When my cousin was a kid, he assumed that one boob was regular milk, and the other was chocolate.

Huh? I’d expect it to be way more than people around here are admitting.

Of course I did, who has sex without breast sucking? Funny thing is that it can spontaneously start again with too much sucking, years after lactation stopped.

He drank it out of a glass, which is different from what I am talking about.

This link has an except from the TLC show Strange sex, which suggests that it is strange.

Edit: there is nothing in the video you wouldn’t see on TLC.

Not ever.

Certainly partners of lactating women still interact orally with the breasts of the lactating partner in many, if not most, cases. How closely this resembles suckling is a different question entirely though. Suckling involves a mechanism called “latching on” and stimulates the breast to “let down” at which point the milk flows with minimal suction necessary. Both the latch and let down are complex physiological activities which are difficult to accomplish if you’re an adult. The positioning, size of the mouth/lips/tongue, would all make a proper latch difficult for adults. The let down is as much psychological as physiological and many women have experienced involuntary let down from hearing the baby cry with hunger, which shows it involves more than physical stimulus of the breast.

Sucking a lactating breast is certainly possible. Suckling is a different thing however. Without a good latch and let down then an adult would get less milk(especially the fat-heavy hindmilk) than a baby would, although they’d still get some.

Enjoy,
Steven

Good grief. Apply Rule 34 here. If you can think it up, you bet there is a fetish community to support it. Try focusing your search terms, and add “fetish”.

Not a once, and absolutely no interest. If there’s a breast in my mouth, the last thing I’d want to think about is my adorable widdle boo-boo bear, and if her nourishment made it’s way into my mouth, well…let’s just say the mood would be gone.

Yes.

I’m sure I would…

Once or twice. But I’ll give most things a try; life is short, and all that.

Maybe someday, through genetic engineering.
