My Name is Lagasek, and I have a problem… I’ma donut addict. Any form, any icing, any shape. From crullers, to friters to the last lonely plain un-iced cake donut in the box. I love 'em all, and Just can’t get enough. I even go to other departments at work and try and scam their donuts, sometimes 3 or 4 a day!.. Sigh, I’m a weak weak man.
I haven’t had a donut in so damn long even the ones I see in the grocery store are looking pretty good. For some reason this is only the case since my wife got 2 donuts in her belly. That seems to have put the brakes on my donut habit.
Mmmmmmmm…Krispy Kremes. They share the same relationship to a regular donut as a Rolls Royce does to a scooter.
Got a friend coming over in a while who thinks I’ve got some donuts for him. He’s gonna be in for a big disappointment. The best I can offer tonight is coldcuts.
I love donuts. I like taking my time, though, so even though I might go through the first donut, being fresh and tasty, in a matter of minutes, the next donut (and the following one(s) might take an hour or more to get through. I really like to enjoy those second and third donuts, I really enjoy sharing them, sometimes dipping them, sometimes standing or even laying on my back while I dine.
There really is nothing quite like sharing a good donut, though, it’s been a few weeks and I hope to be able to again real soon.
Ok, time to eat my words here. My OP, to paraphrase, said that a friend of mine is coming over tonight because he thinks I have some donuts for him but the best he’s gonna get is coldcuts. Errrrrrrr…well, friend and I got into the hottub and after a while my “hot donuts” <reference to Krispy Kreme hehheh> sign lit up and well, I ended up serving some really good donuts to him. Thought I’d say this since I told everybody I only had coldcuts. Heck, sometimes ya just gotta serve up the “hot donuts”, ya know?
swampbear… That may be the most romantic story I’ve ever heard.
I’ve been going to the same bakery for years. They were never the fanciest donuts, but the service was great, and they were pretty wholesome.
Now lately, they seem to be out of stock frequently, and when donuts are available they seem to be flavors I’ve never seen before. Where could these new recipes have come from?
dtaylor404…thanks. I guess “cooking” donuts in a hottub is pretty romantic. Got the “oil” heated up real quick anyway. hehhehheh
::sigh:: I have donuts on tap so to speak, but I just don’t fancy these donut’s anymore. With the effect I don’t have any donuts at all and that makes me mighty hungry
I’ll never look at a Dunkin Donuts the same way again.
Now, donuts are quite tasty… But, mowing the lawn, now that is an altogether out-of-body experience…for both the mower and the lawn…
Funny how you always seem to mow the lawn on Sunday morning, right before you have donuts for breakfast…
I only have donuts every couple of months, when a local bakery co-op puts out its “Bear Claws” sign. I love bear claws…
jayjay (who has had bear claws in a hot tub before, yes indeed)
Yes, sunday morning mowing, while the dew still lingers on the lawn. trimming carefully around the edges, and smelling the freshly cut grass…then donuts and…coffee.
Gee, I never knew how many ohers out there shared my donut thing. Has anyone ever seen a kid’s book by the name of “Who Needs Donuts?” I have only seen a bad xerox copy of it. please let me know if anyone knows the author.
I like to go to different bakeries and watch donuts through the window… sometimes two or three times per day… I guess it’s because I haven’t had a donut for a long, long time…
My dad used to make some good donuts.
…
What?
Since it’s almost time for the Thanksgiving Feast, I am reminded that donuts are always difficult to have after that big meal. All that Turkey makes me sleepy too, so donuts are always a while later.
This year I’m going to eat light, so we can have some donuts for desert!
