Do we need a "Trump" forum?

I know the consensus and logic is against creating any narrowly specialized forums here, and it’s a good practice. However, maybe the solution to “Elections v. Politics” and “No politics in the softie forums” and such is to create a Trump forum to absorb the massive amount of discussion 45 is going to generate for the next few months/years. Moderate it like Elections, allowing a little more free-swinging, and gently discourage extended political discussions in IMHO, MPSIMS, etc.

I know the immediate response is no… but think it over. Do you really want to read about Trump’s latest idiocy or battle all across the Dope, day in and day out, for the next umpty months?

It’s never going to happen. But man! It sure would be nice if they did.

I’m thinking something more along the lines of an omnibus TrumpSplaining and an omnibus TrumpComplaining thread might do the trick.

If we do decide to open a Trump forum here I bet it will have at least a 500 thread-count.

I wish they would, then upgrade the software to the newest vBulletin. That way, we could put the whole blame thing on ignore.

No real need. Once he’s sworn in, all forms of criticism will be shut down anyway.

The President has always dominated discussion here on the SDMB. If 9/11, Iraq and Bush didn’t need their own forum, then Trump doesn’t either.

Considering the kind of widespread damage he’s probably going to do and how it’ll dominate everyone’s lives, it might be more efficient to just create a *not-*Trump forum.
