Do Ya Wanna Party?!! ep Return of the Living Dead is coming to DVD

And I’m tickled pink. This ihas been one of my favorite horror movies from the 80’s. Any other fans of this flick out there?

“Are you kidding, this baby was made by the US Army corps of engineers?”

“Have some F*cking respect for the Dead!”

“Send more paramedics,”

“Send More Cops,”

And so on…

Yup, I got it in my Amazon.com basket already. It’s only like $11.99!

“You mean the movie lied!!!”

Got it pre-ordered from Barnes & Noble; I’ve never seen that movie except on regular tv, where of course it was cut down considerably. I guess I’ll have another movie my girlfriend won’t be watching with me.

The only version I have seen was a washed out grainy video, this will be a treat to see sharper colours and image. I understand the commentary is worth listening too as well.

This movie is the source of all my reocurring zombie nightmares and the reason I stayed away from horror movies till I was twelve. When I was about 8, I went over to a friend’s house. he was in the middle of watching it and asked if I wanted to watch it as well. I say “sure,” and he turns the tape back on. Immediately, I see a group of people walk down the stairs, one guy pull back a shower curtain, and some black monstrosity scream “BRAINS!!!” and then bite into his head. I immediately ran home and had that image ingrained in my brain ever since. Now, I’m the biggest zombie fan alive.

I saw this for the first time a few months back. I’m not a big fan of zombie movies where the zombies can’t die, but that fact added a little extra umpf when they nail the one zombie to the floor and he screams “BRAINS!!!” the poor confused guy just yells back “I hit him in the brain.” Hmmm, it works better when watching it.

Plus, there was a midget zombie for no reason. You’ve gotta respect that.

Does the DVD have anything special on it?

According to the reviews a commentary by the director, a making of documentary and some Ads.
The Miget Zombie is actually a leggless zombie. If you watch carefully you’ll see the nubbie bones sticking out where the feet would be. Hense the odd waddle to his walk. The actor playing the Zombie was also missing those limbs.

Normally I hate Zombies you can’t kill but this film pulled it off for me.

Best scene is where Frank is telling the story about the origin of Night of the Living Dead.

That legless zombie was freaky and disturbing. That’s what I loved about this flick, it’s both effective horror, and comedy.

Funny thing, the day I noticed it was a future release on Amazon.com, it was shown on a premium cable channel I get! I watched it and I almost removed it from my cart, then I realized I really wanted to hear the commentary.

I can’t wait for this DVD myself…plus, according to the director, if the DVD sells well enough, MGM will consider forking over the money for him to reconstruct his Director’s Cut and put that out on DVD.

What a fine fine film this is. ranks right up there with “Night of the Comet” in the comedy-horror genre. Shame the sequels were so wretched.

This uber-violent punk boy I used to know in Texas called himslef “Trash” after a character in the movie. Imagine his surprise (and my delight) when I pointed out to him that Trash was the girl.

Hee hee.

Me I was a fan of Suicide. You know he wasn’t wearing a costume that was a way of life for him!

Dang I hate when a possible directors cut is mentioned because then I have to debate whether I want to own two copies. I helf off on Wrath of Khan just for this Directors cut coming out on Tuesday.
Problem is it has to sell well… so I have to help out. I hope he GIVES ME A DISCOUNT ON THE NEXT WITH A PROOF OF PURCHASE (HINT HINT to all the marketing geniuses)

That’s a good idea. I bet I’m not the only one who paid to see a movie in the theater, then paid to get it on VHS, then paid to get it on DVD, and then the Director’s Cut comes out… that’s a lot of times to pay for the same movie!
