It’s very strange that you posted this today. Well, odd, as in, what a conincidence, I was just thinking the same thing. There was one in MPSIMS that honestly I probably wouldn’t have opened if it didn’t have that little lock on it. And I said to myself, Salem (well not really cause I don’t actually refer to myself by my screenname), once they put that little lock on there, you just have to open it, don’t you.
And when I checked the number of views I said to myself, I bet you’re not the only one. And sure enough…
I always take a glance at closed threads just for the fun. If it is a long thread, I may just look at the end to see how it all came to that point. Also, to see if the mods closed it with style.
I almost always look. Usually it’s not very interesting, but every now and then there’s a gem.
I am similarly motivated to check the change slots in pay phones.
Usually I do, just to see why they were closed.
Closed threads, and TMI in the title are almost a sure fire way to get me to read a thread.
Always.
Yup.
Sometimes, out of morbid curiosity.
You just can’t help doing it. It’s so much fun to see it.
Same as Mudshark, I see a padlock or TMI and i just can’t help myself. Now, a closed TMI thread, that’s something really special.
I can’t help but to check and see why the thread was closed. When the title seems innocuous it’s especially interesting to see what happened. I’ve noticed the view count on closed threads is usually quite high.
Me too.
Read my threads… but serioulsy, there are demishing returns to threads… Like take mine for example. At one point you’ll be just like “not this idot again… I don’t even have to look… I already know what went down…”) Kind of like a Jerry Springer episode… you already know what’s there… you know already because it’s locked!
Count me in.And like others I especialy like a pithy comment by the closer.
I do, and if I ever see a poster is BANNED I’ll check out their profile and look at their last post to see what the final straw was.
So many times you can’t tell though
Always, unless I know it was padlocked because of duplicate thread issues. And TMI…just plain always.
Yep
always.
You HAVE to read them, or you won’t understand have the threads in the Pit. The only exception is when it’s a duplicate. Those I don’t bother with. Too obvious.
Unless it’s locked because it’s a duplicate, then yes. Even if it’s locked with zero posts and the subject line is something like “How to increase your penis size!”, I still will. I mean, sometimes it’s fun to read spam.
