Do you allways look at closed thrads?

For me it is a compulsion, whenever I see that little padlock on a thread I just have to open it to see why it was closed. Am I insane, or do other dopers get this same compulsion?

Darn, and I was so happy that the spellchecker found no errors in my message! Didn’t check the title…

Yeah I usually have to see what closed the thread… I’m always disappointed when the last post doesn’t have anything enlightening!

 Spell check is overrated!

To me, a padlock is a big flashing sign saying “READ ME!”

Yeah, baby. manny is still my favorite thread closer, but UncleBeer has been gettin’ some good ones in lately, too.

Yes. In fact, I’ve often wished we could search for threads closed in the last day.

Yep.

Yes, I want to see if it’s really legit or a mod w/ a stick up his (whoops not the pit), well I mean a mod having a bad day.

Just imagine how popular a board would become if it had nothing but closed threads.

Glad to see I’m not the only one here who does that.

If it is a really long thread, I don’t always bother to look - particularly if it is a debate about abortion or gun control or some other topic that is quite likely to end in a punch-up - I have to look at the threads that get closed after less than a page though.

Count me in as a “yes” vote - I think it’s like slowing down to look at the accident on the side of the road. I always try to resist…not proud about it, but there you go. In general, though, I only view the closed threads that I’ve viewed.
Also, the mods always have a brilliant closing comment – come to think of it, I believe that’s the primary reason I go back.

Yup. Ahhhh, guilty pleasures.

Yep.

Always.

yep. I think a Mod should close this one, then we could sit back and count the hits.

yessireejimbobbo.

Compulsively.

Well NOW I will!

It depends. If the last post is by a mod, then I’ll usually go for a peek, otherwise no.
