It is. Check the cites made before and others:
And it would no doubt draw eye rolls in any mainline Protestant seminary in the country. I think the term biblical scholars use is “proof texting”.
What’s an actual biblical scholar if I may ask? Also do all biblical scholars agree on every thing?
An actual biblical scholar is someone who has done advanced studies on the Bible, having graduated from seminary or graduate school, and does not dismiss some evidence and push other evidence based on what they already believe.
And no, I have not said that all biblical scholars agree on every thing. In fact, I don’t recall anyone ever saying such a silly thing.
I was reading up on this concept of body Thetans and it just seems to be some what similar to the concept of a demon. In fact it seems very similar to Swedenborg’s idea of demons and angels having originated from human beings which is something that mainstream Christianity does not believe.
I don’t think referencing Scientology to support your ideas is a plus.
Yes, in that they’re both made up bullshit.
It is actually harder to find scholars that agree with
Swedenborg.
Sounds interesting I will check this out.
Do you believe in demons in a young girl’s heart?
How exorcism can free her, whenever they start
And it’s demons, if she makes you feel groovy
It makes you feel frightened like a Lon Chaney movie
Just add a little porn, and it’ll eat your soul
But it’s like trying to tell Liberace 'bout rock and roll
Mainstream Christianity did not accept a number of his teachings. Some of the things he taught are very interesting to me and make a lot of sense. His teachings may not have the benefit of the backing of scholars, but that does not mean you can’t enjoy reading studying what he taught.
Well, of course.
But, paraphrasing Carl Sagan, many people enjoyed Bozo the Clown too. The reason why one should consult the current experts or scholars is to avoid situations where guys that got it wrong could lead one to get into implosive situations in life. It is similar to what John Oliver pointed out about the results of listening to grossly inexperienced and mistaken influencers of the past and the present.
It’s very disheartening and it’s scary. I think that there will be a massive exodus of competence right when you fire everyone who knows what they’re doing and only hire people who will say yes to the rich guy in charge. That’s not a recipe for good government; it’s a recipe for the Titan submersible.
