Depends. Regular expenses seem to have fallen into a set pattern without discussion. We have his account and my account, both of which predate the marriage. He gets the fun stuff like mortgage (it’s his house, since he bought it before we got together) and the associated expenses, but then he makes alot more than I do. I pick up stuff like groceries, clothing, video games, etc. We each have a car payment, tho we’re both on the loans.
As for cash, usually it’s a "hey, I didn’t make it to the money machine. Can you spot me $20?’ kinda thing. It never gets paid back unless he’s been sponging off me for a week and a half and I’ve since drained my account keeping us in pocket money and so am unable to cover my expenses. In the long run, it doesn’t really matter, and someday we’re both going to become responsible enough to be able to share a bank account. :rolleyes:
