Not intentionally. I think Tom Cruise is a nutjob, but I still enjoy the Mission Impossible movies for example. The famous people I really despise, like Jenny Mcarthy, I never really felt compelled to in the first place.
Definitely. I’ll never willingly watch a Tom Cruise movie.
Not at the moment; but I might if they were a big enough supporter/financier of some cause I really despised. Like if, say, big action star Bob Smith was a big mover behind an Abstinence Only/HIV-Doesn’t-Cause-AIDS education lobbying group in Africa, or something.
My wife used to love Charleton Heston, but stopped watching his movies as he became more and more identified with the NRA. Even though he got Alzhiemers, withdrew from public life and eventually died, she still won’t watch his movies.
I was raised in a house where Jane Fonda movies were not allowed due to her actions during the Vietnam War (specifically posing on an AA gun that might have shot at my dad).
I don’t bother with any censoring of that type. One actor is still only a small part of the total equation.
I refuse to watch Tom Cruise movies anymore, since the guy is a nutjob. And before she came out with her “I Cured My Son’s Autism” nutjobbism, I didn’t care one way or the other about Jenny McCarthy but now I refuse to watch anything with her in it.
I agree with the “Cruise” comment, and will add one other: Julia Roberts.
Sorry my friends, but when she left Kiefer Sutherland and married what she thought was the ugliest guy she could find (Lyle Lovett) and then quickly divorced him, I lost all respect for her and gained 100% respect for this talented gentleman.
I don’t doubt they’re good at their craft, but both are assholes in real life (IMO) and I won’t watch anything they’re in.

No actors, but I refuse to watch Roman Polanski’s films. I won’t be a party to putting a dime in the pocket of an unabashed rapist. I won’t even watch his films on cable. Maybe once he’s dead and in the ground.
I can’t deal with the whole Roman Polanski thing.
ETA - JINX!
Mel Gibson, for sure. He hasn’t made anything good in years, though, so it’s not a difficult boycott.
Hugh Grant.
Angelina Jolie creeps me right the heck out. From the time she was famous for those deep wet kisses with her brother, to the time she went around with a vial of Billy Bob Thornton’s blood on a chain around her neck to the compulsive hoarding of children… I avoid her like I avoid all nut jobs…
Dude. No Kidding. He went home at night to Elizabeth Hurley, and screwed it up. WTF?
Woody Allen.
Tom Cruise
The only one whose work I once enjoyed is Mel Gibson. I always thought Tom Cruise was an annoying little twerp and avoided his work anyway, but The Road Warrior was one of my favorite movies and I enjoyed the first Lethal Weapon flick and Braveheart. Now I can’t watch them without feeling slightly nauseated and I would never pay to see a film of his.
I always hated Woody Allen, so finding out that he was a creep didn’t make a lot of difference.
Or Mel Gibson.
I won’t see any movie directed by Victor Salva, a lesser known pedophile rapist.
I generally dislike Tom Cruise because he’s a wacko $cientologist and all-around nut. I’ve managed to avoid most of his movies for a while but my wife rented the most recent Mission Impossible and I have to say I found it entertaining.
I haven’t seen anything Mel Gibson has done in years but, dammit, I still love Mad Max and The Road Warrior.
