Do you care if Letterman had office affairs ...

Other: I don’t get that the office thing is relevant. Unless he was especially dickish about being the boss, or something.

Why would I care? He’s just some guy on tv.

eta - It’s not like I’ve been a fan all these years because of his strong moral rectitude.

Other - my interest in Dave Letterman’s sex life remains non-existent. I mean, he’s got a kid so clearly he’s had sex with someone sometime, but that’s something I don’t care to think too much about. And if he’s had affairs, that’s the business of his spouse and just about no one else.

You don’t really have a straight up “yes” option (one qualified yes, two variations of “it depends” and no). I don’t care what Letterman does in his personal life, but it seems silly to have a poll with a yes or no question and then not have an unqualified yes or no option.

No. For all I know, he and his wife had an arrangement where it was cool with her for him to pick up some office tail on the side. And even if they didn’t, what’s it to me? I really don’t care.

I don’t care as long as he didn’t put job-related pressure on the women in question. I’ll feel kind of bad for his wife if it wasn’t understood in their relationship that he’d run around a little.

It couldn’t possibly be of less interest to me.

Here’s a link (via Instapundit) to deceiver.com - which has a brief diatribe and four videos of Letterman laughing it up about other people’s sex scandals. Pretty funny stuff.

What he said. I don’t watch it, any way.

It does not improve my opinion of him, but really, why do I care?

Also agree with the depends if he pressured the women involved, and whether his wife believed she was getting his fidelity.

What would Johnny do?

What she said.

Other: His status has no impact on what I think of him having an affair. I don’t think anyone should have affairs.

My initial reaction was “Whatever, dude. Next time, keep it zipped up.” Then I flipped channels and returned to my previous level of apathy.

+1.

It’s not like he’s Leno in prime time. That would be wrong, but late at night, anything goes.

As long as it was consentual on both ends (no job threats, abuse, etc) I don’t much care. I’m sure his wife cares but I ain’t his wife.

None of my business. The world would be a better place if more people minded their own business.

Land of the free, hah!

I chose “Other” because my feelings are, like several others here, that the only reason it would be worth caring about would be if Letterman were sexually harassing his staffers. If the woman or women involved were fully consenting and did not feel pressured into sex with Letterman – and so far this looks to be the case – then there’s no reason for outsiders to be concerned.

It’s jerk behavior to cheat on your girlfriend, but Letterman has never held himself up as a paragon of virtue. He’s also far from the first celebrity to sleep around.
