Me and my dog have a deal. Whenever we go raid the pantry or the fridge, whatever we find, we split it. This includes when I throw bacon on the grill.
Don’t know if she realizes she’s been getting a bum rap for years, I tell she’s not much of a cheese or chocolate person and she wouldn’t like peanut butter even if she tried it, but she’ll have to take my word for it.
Not on purpose.

Dude, that is AWESOME!
I don’t cook for my Dolly…on occasion I’ll boil one of her bones in broth. However, I buy cases of unsalted canned green beans at a time and she gets one every night at 7 pm. Nummy!
(Ella Bean-- e-mailed the address in your profile with recipes. Yum yum.)
It was something my mum told me, actually. I think pretty much all dogs and cats will enjoy milk and egg warmed up. When I was a kid we had one horrible old cat that for all the talk of milk being bad for cats, would drink nothing else. My mum would occasionally put an egg in it for a treat, and the cat would go at it like it was crack cocaine.
I think you’re on your own with the tofu though.
capybara thank you! Paco and Cecil may be eating like kings tomorrow! (a baking moratorium has been imposed in the household. too many calories. It might be lifted if i’s for the birds, though)
Anne Neville not true- our cat Caruso loves tofu and pad thai, as well as rice krispies.
We also have a temporary cat (she’s sick, so she’s staying with us.) who loves to eat off your plate. It makes her feel special. So she always gets a section of my plate. Today she had some lentil curry and part of a chick pea crepe.
When my old cat Fluffy, was sick once and not eating much, my mother cooked some some chicken in broth on top of the stove for her. She gobbled it right up.
She also used to flavor bones for our last dog-old soup bones that she’d boil in a broth with some herbs and beef stock or whatever. Sometimes she’d make some for the neighbor’s dog, too.
