The Most Spoiled Rotten Pet Contest

Is your dog, cat, hamster or bird spoiled? How spoiled is he?

Does your dog demand his dinner is microwaved? Will your cat only drink bottled water? Does your parrot demand you not talk to it using slang?

I know we all love animals but I thought it’d be fun to see who not only spoils their pets, but spoils them rotten

One thing it doesn’t have to be your pet, it can be a pet that belongs to <wink> <wink> your friend.

I’m only posting one picture, but for my money, hands down it’s Cuervo.

That’s him the night we got him. Somewhere here is the long story of the beginning of his rescued start.

Now, here we are almost four years later, and he still:

  • Eats his canned food all by himself locked in the bathroom where he can take his time and not be bothered.

  • Is the only cat not yelled at for jumping on the kitchen island. Even my wife sees him and tells him what a good boy he is.

  • Has a girlfriend - a stuffed Ty cat that he drags around the house, humps and abandons. No one touches Margarita (get it - Cuervo - Margarita?? ). Like we would anyway.

  • Only gets fed the beef flavor of canned food.

  • Only needs to stand near a window sill to have the window opened for his viewing pleasure. (he doesn’t talk, so he gets waited on a lot)

  • Despite the others yelling for dinner, no one gets fed until he comes to sit in front of me and stare. I ask “is the boy hungry?” He falls on his side and rolls over. That means yes and the others get fed.

My cats eat four times a day, for no good reason.

The dobie gets the last bite of everything I eat. At dinnertime, she joins us and rests her chin on the table.
She also gets a taste of whatever we’re cooking, anything that falls on the floor, and any food stuck to the dishes. Plus dog biscuits for sitting, going into her crate, ignoring cats, and looking hungry.

Also, the porch door is opened to let the cats in or out at their whim, which at a conservative guess is four million times a day.

Y’all have seen my critters, but: cats
dobie

I let my cat get up on the dinner table and eat off my plate.

Yes,I live alone.

All my animals are spoiled. The dogs get 2 walks a day ,everyday. In the park of course.
My cat bitches up a storm in the morning until he gets fed. He only eats Fancy Feast and will decide his dry food has turned radioactive after awhile and will not eat it anymore. Then I have to find a new brand.
He comes to my bed at night and demands a petjob. He purrs and purrs as he gets petted, and then walks away . He may decide to get petted again in an hour or 2. He decides.

My Dolly has always just gotten up in the morning when I get up in the morning, and that’s when she eats. Usually this is between 9 and 10, or later on the weekends.

Starting a few months ago, she has started getting up anywhere between 6 AM and 7:30 AM and demanding to eat and get let out. She won’t go outside until she eats, and I am afraid that now that she’s 7 she really does have to pee that bad, so I just get up and feed her.

She doesn’t even bark. She just walks into my room and stares at me. If I don’t feel her presence, she growls a bit. Then I get up all bleary-eyed and feed her, wait around, and let her out.

I don’t think I’ve had an actual 8 hours of solid sleep since January. She has me trained.

Cuervo licks the top of my head anytime he finds me asleep, just so I can tell him what a good boy he is. Once I do that and skritch a bit, he curls up and goes to sleep.

The bulldog sisters came to us at ages 6 and 8 after a rough life of being breeder dogs. When they arrived they didn’t know how to walk on a leash, play with toys, eat a treat out of my hand or go up/down stairs. They’ve mastered a few of these tricks, but we don’t really care we’re just intent on giving them a gentle and comfortable final few years. They both have small table fans that point at each of their beds on warm days. Plus warm, down filled beds in the living room in case they get too chilly in front of the fans. They are fed in their crates so they don’t have to get up to eat.

I have three cats, and they are welcome to eat off my plate whenever they want. When I have any type of meat, I cut a portion up into small bites for my orange tabby Ulysses. He also gets unlimited lunch meat (turkey’s his favorite) whenever he asks for it. If I pour a glass or milk for myself, my girl Felicity gets the first sips of it (or I should say, laps). She loves to have brand-new water in her bowl at all times, which means refilling it multiple times a day, every time I pass it. When I am eating yogurt, my other girl Genevieve comes over and I give her a spoonful to lick - she loves yogurt. The cats can go in and out as they please, which means opening and closing the back door dozens of times a day. If I am at my computer, Felicity will get on the desk, sit right on the keyboard and rest her head on my mouse hand. I will just have to stop whatever I am doing and wait until she’s had her fill of attention. Felicity sleeps on my chest, with her little purring face an inch from mine, every night, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

The youngest of my four cats is definitely spoiled. She’s the only one who gets to sleep in the room with me, on top of me actually, every night. She’s the only one who gets treats every day. Anytime I make a sandwich for myself she gets little pieces of the lunchmeat. She mews and I go to see what’s up, the others meow and they get a “Knock it off!” Finally, she gets the coveted spot at the head of the bed as you can see.
(I’m very attached to all of my animals and wouldn’t take anything for any one of them.)

Max is an international traveler! How many other pets have their own passports?

Whenever Olive sees me getting ready for bed, she jumps onto the blankets and curls up in the very middle, purring loudly. Rather than shoo her away, I gingerly position myself around her. Also, whenever we have dinner she persistently paws at my thigh until my mom gets up and gives her a tiny bit of milk. It’s alwas my mom that gets her the milk but she never bothers her. Weird.

(She’s with my parents now so I only see her on weekends. :frowning: )

Three cats live in the Bodoni household. All three are spoiled. Sapphire the Siamese girl is the most spoiled, however. If I know she’s going to want some of what we have for dinner, I cut up some of it and put it in a saucer. This is because otherwise, she will demand to be hand fed bits of steak and asparagus and pasta. She sneers at ground beef, so our meatloaf is safe. She snuggles on my husband at night, but when his alarm goes off in the morning, she roots him out of bed. She wants the bed to herself now! I guess he’s lucky that he’s allowed to sleep in the bed at night.

Shadow and Charlie, our two orange boys, also get some of our dinner, but they’re not such pests about it. We give them some meat because we feel guilty if only Sapphire gets a share of it. They really don’t care about pasta or veggies.

Charlie used to insist on being held when he took a nap. He’s apparently outgrown this, but for months, he would find a human when he was feeling sleepy and demand to be held.

My SO always saves a bite of dinner and divides it up for the animals.
The cats get expensive canned food.
My princess Isabel meows and usually get a treat.
I feed the cats before I get coffee.
We keep the bird feeders full mostly for their entertainment.

Whenever we make fish, chicken, turkey, or beef, the cats get a little bit of it raw while we’re cooking, if possible. They don’t get duck or lamb because they don’t like it. They don’t get fed from the table because too many of our dishes have onions or garlic in them, which are toxic to cats.

They have approximately 6.02 * 10[sup]23[/sup] cat toys.

Katya likes to be petted while she eats. She will make these adorable squeaking sounds at you and lead you over to the food dish so you can pet her. She purrs if you pet her while she eats.

Luna says Sapphire should know that there are starving kitties (yeah right) in Pittsburgh that would love that ground beef.

The two Siamese I am catsitting right now (sorry no pics):frowning: have to be right up there in the spoiled department.

  1. Litter box cleaned twice daily
  2. Only Fancy Feast and then only the chicken flavour and then only if and when they deign to eat it.
  3. Most days it is poached chicken breast or salmon, hand fed to each of the little blighters - they eat better than I do
  4. Music has to be left on for them while I am away at work - separation anxiety, you know.

Mind you, our two also get some spoiling - BernietheCat has to have the last teaspoon of cereal milk every morning and he is brushed every night (in fact he drags the brush over to Himself and then flops on his side waiting for its application). Murphy and Bernie also sleep on our bed and we carefully arrange ourselves around the cats (which may account for some of the aches and pains in the morning).

My late dwarf hamster, Coral (no pics, sorry) was quite spoiled. She was the last of a family that included her, her two sisters, and their mom, so we had plenty of one-on-one time with her. She was an athletic little thing (loved to run top-speed in her wheel) and didn’t even want to stop running to eat her treats…so I found that if I cut the individual florets off the broccoli, I could feed them to her while she was running.

I never expected to be able to put “Hamster Personal Trainer” on my resume.

I’ll add onto mine; I drive 22 miles one way to get my pets their special (grain free for cats, premium, can’t buy it at Petsmart or PetCo) food(s).

Oh, the cats have their own room for litter boxes and their water fountain.

Dolly is a beautiful dog. I guess she’s hot that’s why she’s sitting in the snow

A spoiled hamster and a DWARF hamster at that…LOL

How come only the cat owners are spoling their cats? Poor dogs
