Do you drink soda?

Very close to me. I might have a soda if there is nothing else, but that’s pretty damn rare.

For myself it’s
Water
Beer
Ice tea or a mixed drink like a G&T or Margarita (a distant third)

Yes. You all know what soda is. And pop. And Coke. And cola.

Mom never provided it to us when we were growing up, so we always saw it as an unusual treat. Then when I worked at McDonald’s, I drank all I wanted to!
These days, I theoretically would allow myself a soda if I was sick and thought it would help…but in practice, I just don’t ever want the stuff.
Also, my mind kind of automatically translates some words into less appealing things: sun = cancer, white bread = paste, etc. Soda = liquid candy. I need a good reason to ingest candy, as I prefer to save my calories for pure, healthful booze.

No sugar, I’m diabetic. But I will drink diet Dr Pepper, Coke zero sugar, etc. Three or four cans a week.

Will have diet soda if I’m at a restaurant. Don’t keep any soda at home. Will occasionally have a sweetened type if it’s trying a new root beer or ginger beer.

To be fair, you specified “sugary” in the OP

I drink a can of non-sugar Coke Zero a day, usually. Sometimes two.

I drink water and black coffee. Occasionally (every month or so), I will drink unsweetened iced tea. My in-laws are Southern and they actually make a special pitcher of it when I’m at their house. I’d feel bad if I didn’t drink it after they went to all that trouble.

Never anything carbonated.

I drink one can of Coke Zero every morning, as I don’t drink coffee.

If I go out to a bar or a restaurant, diet cola is what I drink.

I’m 40.

Yes, I use soda when mixing pancake or waffle batter. Can’t imagine mixing into a drink.

I do drink pop, but only zero-calorie. Typically one at lunch and one on the drive home.

I drink approximately one Coke Zero a day, the 12 oz size. Mixed with bourbon, a little at a time.

It’s a no for me. An absolute no. Nearly every time I tell someone I don’t drink soda (and this even happened today), they’ll say “Neither do I, I have maybe 1 diet coke a week” to which I reply “No, I mean I don’t drink it at all, I’ve had less than a can of soda in my entire life”.
And, it’s not that I have anything against it, I the carbonation hurts my throat and I don’t care for the flavors, like, at all. It just doesn’t do it to me.

I start the work day with 2 cans of Diet Coke in a mug of ice. Once it’s gone, I drink water.

On non-work days at home, I’ll have a half-liter bottle with breakfast, then that’s it. If we go out for breakfast, I’ll have a couple of refills. But I do my best to avoid any caffeine after noon.

I drink coffee, tea, and juice frequently, but I always have soda (pop) of one kind or another (Coke, ginger ale, Seven-Up or Sprite, occasionally Orange Crush) with my afternoon and evening meals.

I drink diet Dr. Pepper primarily and often caffeine free diet coke. I’m 61.

Yes, diet only. If it’s around, daily, if not, then not. I’m not the one in the family who stocks up on soda, but I’ll drink it when my wife has it around. I drink real sugar soda pretty much never. Maybe a couple times a year, but I actually prefer diet soda.

I feel fortunate that I don’t have much of a taste for it. It’s probably healthier to drink hard alcohol daily. That said, I’m not a complete abstainer. Every so often I will have one with a meal (which blunts many of the ill health effects).

Yes, and I also know what “sugary” means, and now you’re changing the question. I drink only diet sodas. About two a day.

I drink 2-3 full strength Mountain Dews a day, minimum. First one at about 7 am M-F, later on the weekends. I do drink other things so didn’t go with the first response. Had my first one back when it first came out, when the bottle featured a “hillbilly” holding a jug and the cork was popping off and penetrating the brim of his hat. I try to not drink it after noon because I have sleep issues and don’t need caffeine later in the day. I still have all but one of my teeth, I have dental issues but not so much decay as gum and bone loss.

I TRY and limit my consumption to one a day, though I’m not always successful. Coke is my soda of choice. I’m in my late 50’s.

My relationship with soda is very much like some peoples’ relationship with alcohol.

I used to have soda every day, both at lunch and dinner. In my thirties I cut it to just at lunch. I don’t drink coffee, so my lunchtime soda was my only caffeine source. Last year I cut soda cold turkey for about six months. It was really great - I lost about 12 pounds, slept better and my skin felt somehow… different.

When I fell off the wagon it went to only at restaurants, which meant it was only occasionally. But lately I’ve been having some work stress and I’m back to my old ways. I especially love a soda with foods I like, such as sushi. I no longer keep it in the house, so that’s a plus. But I really should give it up again.
