Do you have any weird food combinations that actually taste good to you?

I do sour cream and pineapple which I imagine is pretty close. I’ll have to try your version though.

How about sauerkraut and eggs? Drain the kraut and cook in a skillet until it dries and browns, then throw in a couple of eggs and mix it all together.

Peanut butter and Miracle Whip in our family.

Homegrown tomatoes & cottage cheese.

This is just as delicious with drained and rinsed kimchi browned in place of sauerkraut.

I believe you nailed it right on the head–even the crock pot part (which was edited out).

My dad’s favorite weird food combo was cherry cake and pepperoni. A bite of cake, then a slice of pepperoni. We all laughed at him until we tried it. It is good! That was always his birthday dessert.

Peanut butter and bacon sandwich.
Peanut butter and molasses sandwich.
Peanut butter and marmalade paired with Swiss cheese, lettuce, and mayo in a three-decker sandwich.
Peanut butter on hamburgers and hotdogs (with grilled onions and Cheez Whiz - Yum!).
(There’s a theme here!)
Meatballs slow simmered in a pot with half BBQ sauce, half ginger beer. (This is in high demand when I bring something to a potluck meal. When I was working, my name had “meatballs” preprinted beside it on the potluck sign-up sheets.)

Brownie + yellow mustard.

My favorite sandwich at the grilled cheese restaurant, Melt is a peanut butter, banana and cream cheese thingy.

“Caramelized banana, house made peanut butter, sweet cream cheese, candied peanuts, berry preserves for dipping”

That sounds close to The Perfect Egg Bite.

Pizza (must use a tomato-based sauce) and a glass of either chocolate milk or a chocolate milk shake. I’ve loved this since grade school.

Cinnamon-sugar soft pretzels dipped in yellow mustard.

Spaghetti with meat sauce and untoasted italian bread with butter and grape jelly.

I think I really must like sweet and salty combinations, but I don’t think that’s too uncommon.

Guinness draft with a scoop if ice cream and a chunk of birthday cake.

I got into this when I lived in Germany back in the 80s, and yeah, I get some odd looks. If anyone gives me an “Ewww”, I ask them if they also hate potato salad.

What he said. Also peanut butter with banana pepper rings and Mt. Olive Deli Style Dill Relish.

I don’t make it often but sometimes I get in the mood for PB&J with olive tapenade.

Dated a gal for a while. She made me her specialty dish, browned hamburger mixed with cream of chicken soup and peas, served over spaghetti. She added a spoonful of dill pickle relish to her’s, I ate mine without. I was pretty decent, haven’t tried to make it myself.

Last year while visiting Taormina I had a salad that consisted of slices/hunks of oranges and red onions, with what looked like hot crushed red pepper sprinkled on it. Looked and seemed bizarre but was absolutely delicious.

I love peanut butter. I love pickles. Awright, now I need to try them together for the first time.

Anything with tomato sauce, like pizza or spaghetti, I want that with a big glass of cold milk.

Fried, boiled, or raw?

The cake IN the Guinness?

Substitute cream of mushroom for cream of chicken and you get something like the cafeteria served when I was in grade school.

Yep, cake and ice cream both in a pint of Guinness. St Patrick’s Day habit of mine, and everyone who has ever tried one has liked it. The cake disintegrates pretty quick.
