Do You Have "Early Voting" In Your State, And Do You Vote Early?

Not only do we not have early voting, getting an absentee ballot requires cause (college student, military, injury preventing travel.)

Kentucky is behind on a lot of this stuff, but I won’t say that’s necessarily a bad thing. There are a number of precincts in this state where democracy still goes “ka-chunk!”

A little overly simplistic, even for Madison.

In Wisconsin, you can request an absentee ballot by mail or in person as soon as they are printed, usually a few weeks before the election. If you apply in person (from the local clerk), you can fill it out and return it on the spot, and you have voted early.

At least that’s they way it is in my county. Tis possible other places in WI use machines for advance voting, but I haven’t heard of any.

All absentee ballots are kept sealed until the polls close, then counted last.
