I had a blind date, decades ago, with a young lady from Boston. We were walking with another couple down a dark street and a car passed with the headlights on bright. Her eyes seemed to reflect the light, they seem to be luminous, the only comparison I have is to animals you pass at night. The girls eyes were hazel unless they were struck by bright light. Nice girl, but she was moving to New York and I was moving to Seattle within days. I never saw her again.
I was born with very deep blue eyes, but as I’ve gotten older they’ve lightened up quite a bit. Besides this they do tend to shift from shades of grey and sometimes appear green depending on whether there is much yellow or not.
Me too–I usually put down “gray” because I can’t really claim to be blue-eyed except when wearing bright blue.
Mine turned black a few times, back in my drinking days.
Gray, blue, green and it seems to depend on clothing and lighting - I write gray when asked because my dad’s eyes were really gray.
My eyes change color, but not necessarily the same color. Both of my eyes are primarily blue, but my…(thinking a minute)…right eye tends to be more green-blue while my left tends to be more gray-blue. Sometimes they can be quite close in color, at other times my right turns mostly green with gold and brown flecks while the left turns mostly gray with blue and silver flecks. That juxtaposition gets kinda eerie.
I’ve always been told my eyes are Hazel. My wife says they can change color, but I never put anything else down. Judging from this thread, a lot of hazel-eyed folks have the same experience.
In general, my eyes are light brown with green flecks. When I get tired, drunk, horny, weepy, my allergies act up or I am in very bright light, my eyes become a very strange almost clear but very dark green. In between times, like when I’m getting tired or the light is getting brighter, they are the color of baby diarrhea.
My eye colours change with my moods and emotions. Generally I put down Hazel on forms because that’s the most common colour (a default setting if you will).
They change to various shades of green with extreme emotions and darken with others (I’ll spare you all the detials). And when I’m feeling mischevious they develop yellow flecks.

I am with Roo on this. I usually put down blue as my eye color, but depending on mood, wellness and what I am wearing my eyes will change a lot of different color. My eyes are prettiest after I cry. They turn bright teal. It is really cool.
Yes, that would be hazel. My eyes are blue, but they are a light-ish, greenish-blue. Sometimes they are more blue, or more green, or even greyish. Depends on the light and what I’m wearing.
My eyes used to be hazel- they’re even listed as “Hzl” on my drivers’ license- but then I got in a real bad car accident, and from then on they’ve been blue with these flaring yellow rings in the center. Weird, huh?
If I’ve been crying, they’re VE-E-E-E-E-ERY blue (like, baby-blue). It’s kinda odd.
If you look at my drivers licence it says my eyes are blue, but they can vary from hazel to greyish. I asked my optromotrist about that and he said that it was OK to put blue down. I’d hate to be challenged on my eye colour by a cop.

mine don’t change color, but the tint tends to change. Grey to light blue to quite dark blue. Not terribly exciting, comparitively.
My eyes are normally a grey-blue. They brighten to a prettier shade of blue when I’m happy and darken to a forest green with a black border when I’m pissed off.
If you can’t tell the color of my pupil from my iris then you’d better run. I’ve only reached true black a few times in my life but the situations at the time weren’t pretty.
Blue normally, gray when I’m bored. I put down blue on everything. My father’s go from blue to green, green more often (but he puts down blue on everything.) My grandfather;s go from hazel to blue to green to gray and everywhere in between. He puts down whatever color his eyes happen to be as he’s writing out that form.

not eerie, nen. captivating.
So, what do I do with you now that I’ve captivated you?
My eyes are the same as your sons. I always put down Hazel just to cover my bases. I can’t count how many times i’ve put down Hazel and the person behind the counter goes “what’s hazel?”. Look at my eyes and you tell me is what i always say. Then it never fails they always say that my eyes are either really weird looking and just sooo pretty. Yeah thanks hun, just what i needed to hear, just gimme my damn fishing license will ya? I gots stuff to catch.
