Yes. Usually they were the rapists or their (the attackers) family.
That one is downright common. Cue the tired jokes, “you can’t rape a hooker - it’s just theft, innit ?” HaHa Only Serious.
Well one very sad story along this line. I knew this guy who’s daughter was raped by a close friend of his when she was 13 (they were both part of a biker group). It upset him so much because 1. he felt he had failed to protect his daughter and 2. this was a friend whom he had trusted. He really cried and was angry at himself at the thought about how he had failed to protect his daughter. Along with some other issues he had this put him into a deep depression.
Sadly about 3 years later he committed suicide.
Now I have met the daughter who’s maybe 20 now and she seems like a smart, confident young woman who hasnt let this destroy her life and its too bad her father couldnt see her now.
** Back to the OP, I dont think it’s always bad to treat a rape victim in a different way because a person, especially a man, might say the wrong thing which could trigger something. I knew a rape victim who after we had sex, sometimes she would fall asleep and start having flashbacks and nightmares. Also there were certain sex acts which she told me triggered reactions and I wasnt even to ask for.
