Do you know what this means?

The term ‘whip a shittie’ is common in my experience. Do you know what it refers to?

No. No I don’t. Never seen or heard it before in my life.

We usually whip a youie (U-turn).

Nope, I don’t know either.

From this site :

When it’s snowy and icy out, we call that flippin’ shitties.

“Y’all wanna go flip some shitties tonight? Gotta snow storm commin’…”

I guess either way, it’s to purposely fishtail the car.

I’ve been to 36 states, but I can’t say I’ve ever heard that expression.

Without the definition, I would have assumed it was something monkeys do!

I try to refrain from it in public, I can tell you that much.

Where I come from, making a U-turn is called “hanging a youie.”

I’ve never heard the phrase, “whip a shittie.” Must be one of those weird Canadian things.

I’ve heard “make a youie” but I would never have thought “whip a shittie” meant the same thing. Ever.

22, grew up in Buffalo, heard “hang a youie” but not “whip a shittie.”

New to me.

If I was a suspicious type, I’d think Ginger was making this up to yank our collective chains…

Never heard the phrase before.

It was once on a dialect survey I saw, as a synonym of “to do donuts.”

New to me…

I have heard it.

I should add that in my experience it meant to do a U-turn

Looks like a Minnesota colloquialism. (Eau Claire, WI is about an hour from the Twin Cities on I-94.)

I’ve heard it, but not until I was in Maine for college - never heard it growing up in Tennessee.
