Love sauerkraut…
Most of the time I eat it with porkchops (I have a wonderful recipe for the crockpot which uses sauerkraut, apples, onion, porkchops and a little bit of apple juice or chicken broth… mmmmm so good) or with bratwurst on a bun or another favourite way is ‘lazy cabbage rolls’ which is just sauerkraut layered with rice, salt and pepper and tomato sauce poured on top and baked. Sometimes a slice of bacon or something is dropped on top for more flavour.
This is my favourite brand, their cabbage rolls recipe is almost my Grandma’s. I really don’t find it vinegary. I’m not a fan of the stuff you can get from the Hutterites though, just tastes wrong to me, and odd.
