Unpopular Foods You Like

For me, it’s Spam. Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam and Spam. Love the stuff, especially fried.

I also like Limburger cheese, so creamy and smooth but with character.

And pickled herring (the kind in wine sauce). Sourness and protein in one lipsmackin’ snack!

I used to really like Knudsen’s prune yogurt. But they discontinued it. (Make anay joke you like here.)

Never had prune yogurt, but you reminded me–

Prunes! Yes, I like prunes!

I like liverwrust but i hate liver …

LICORICE. Man do I love that stuff! And, please, don’t ask me “Red or Black?”, because all licorice is black. That red stuff is nothing but cherry/strawberry candy.
Licorice. Mmmmmm! Twists, Whips, Pipes, Records (remember records? With the jawbreaker in the center?), Buttons,Snaps.
Gotta find me a good old fashioned candy store. Soon!

Vegemite, “balut” (unhatched duckling), various types of offal -kidneys, liver, tripe, etc.

I’ve never tried brains though. Never will either.

YAY! A Spam lover. But then again, Hawaii is the Spam capital of the world.

I just LOVE liver. Yum!

I’m crazy about plain old saltines. Particularly when washed down with diet Coke.

Vegies… yes, vegies…

People are always complaining about having to eat them, or stick to the same old ones (peas, carrots, 'tatos…) But what about the other fun vegies?? Broccoli, asparagas, cauliflower, eggplant (aubergine), squash… What I wouldn’t give for some squash at this very moment… spaghetti squash, yellow squash… OOOOHHH dang I want squash!!! But haven’t been able to find the kinds I like here in the UK :frowning:

I haven’t had Spam in years, but the hubby mentioned fried Spam the other week and every once in a while the ol’ tast buds tingle with the thought of buying some to see if it tastes any different on this side of the pond.

I’m not into funky cheeses (none of the blues, stiltons, etc - not for me cos I don’t care for overly mature cheeses) but I do enjoy cheese with stuff in them… spring onions, paprika, cinnamon and raisin… as long as the cheese itself isn’t too mature.

Scottish oatcakes - they’re wonderful, I could happily live on them… but my SO hates them s much

I love sardines. Had them for lunch almot every day last week. I really like anchovies too. My mother and I used to call up and order a jalepeno and anchovy pizza from the local pizza place. We didn’t even have to give the name. They knew who it was for.

Despite the horror they cause, circus peanuts. Yeah, you heard me, circus peanuts!

Blood sausages!

I adore liver! I order it nearly every time I am in a restaurant and see it on the menu! That’s because I can’t serve it at home. . . nobody else likes it!
I also adore brussels sprouts. Splash on some balsamic vinegar and they make a treat for the gods!

I’m a vegemite lover too. But loadeddog, you’ll eat balut and tripe, but you shy away from brains? What is it, you won’t eat any object that might outthink you?

Nobody’s mentioned head cheese yet.

Okra.

Whether pickled and chilled, made into gumbo, or just stewed with tomatoes and sweet corn, I love okra.

Kidneys are good, too. And black pudding and white pudding, although you don’t see them very much in the USA.

Do green beans count? When I was little, I loved spinach with butter.

Grits, just about any kind of squash, stewed tomatoes, and beef tongue. One of my favorites I don’t get enough of is a grilled sandwich with a thin slice of beef tongue, cheese, and sweet onion dipped in mayo. Yum.

1.0 Liver & onions.

2.0 Sardines.

3.0 Hi, Opal!

4.0 Buttermilk.

You guys are making me hungry!

Licorice–yes! I like to open the package and let it get ‘chewy’.

Buttermilk, with just a dash of pepper. Sadly, it’s getting harder to find in the stores.
