LICORICE. Man do I love that stuff! And, please, don’t ask me “Red or Black?”, because all licorice is black. That red stuff is nothing but cherry/strawberry candy.
Licorice. Mmmmmm! Twists, Whips, Pipes, Records (remember records? With the jawbreaker in the center?), Buttons,Snaps.
Gotta find me a good old fashioned candy store. Soon!
People are always complaining about having to eat them, or stick to the same old ones (peas, carrots, 'tatos…) But what about the other fun vegies?? Broccoli, asparagas, cauliflower, eggplant (aubergine), squash… What I wouldn’t give for some squash at this very moment… spaghetti squash, yellow squash… OOOOHHH dang I want squash!!! But haven’t been able to find the kinds I like here in the UK
I haven’t had Spam in years, but the hubby mentioned fried Spam the other week and every once in a while the ol’ tast buds tingle with the thought of buying some to see if it tastes any different on this side of the pond.
I’m not into funky cheeses (none of the blues, stiltons, etc - not for me cos I don’t care for overly mature cheeses) but I do enjoy cheese with stuff in them… spring onions, paprika, cinnamon and raisin… as long as the cheese itself isn’t too mature.
I love sardines. Had them for lunch almot every day last week. I really like anchovies too. My mother and I used to call up and order a jalepeno and anchovy pizza from the local pizza place. We didn’t even have to give the name. They knew who it was for.
I adore liver! I order it nearly every time I am in a restaurant and see it on the menu! That’s because I can’t serve it at home. . . nobody else likes it!
I also adore brussels sprouts. Splash on some balsamic vinegar and they make a treat for the gods!
I’m a vegemite lover too. But loadeddog, you’ll eat balut and tripe, but you shy away from brains? What is it, you won’t eat any object that might outthink you?
Grits, just about any kind of squash, stewed tomatoes, and beef tongue. One of my favorites I don’t get enough of is a grilled sandwich with a thin slice of beef tongue, cheese, and sweet onion dipped in mayo. Yum.
