Do you like scrapple?

Simple question. Scrapple

Well I’d never heard of it before this thread but it sure looks scrumptious.

I’d heard of it in a previous thread like this one. I still haven’t had it, but I imagine I’d like it.

Maybe my sarcasm wasn’t evident here but that shit looks like roadkill. Garnished with a pretty leaf.

I’ve heard of it, and would try it if I was somewhere that served it, but haven’t had the chance yet. There isn’t a button for that.

That would be the second option.

So it’s like fried meatloaf made from pork. Never had it, but I’d try it and expect good things.

I’m originally from the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country, and I think scrapple is revolting. Going out for breakfast with my family back home is painful, because they all order scrapple, and I have to look at five or six plates of the stuff at once. Nasty.

once when chewing i crunched on something, i thought it was a chuck of bone but it turned out to be a Q.

Thanks johnpost, that was great!

Going to move this to Cafe Society.

I used to try to play it but I’m a horrible speller.

How come some guys from Penn brought me jars of ground pork; cooked with salt, pepper and savory; stored in jars and flooded with molten lard; and they called it scapple?

It’s somewhere between blood pudding and haggis, but I like it! It would be my guilty pleasure if I could get it in Illinois; an artifact from going to a New Jersey boarding school. I’ll see if I can get some at a diner next time I come through the area!

I’ve never eaten it, but thanks to Gerry Mulligan, I can’t rid my brain of the idea the it’s supposed to have apples in it.

Never had it; probably never will.

It’s all fun and games until someone loses an “I”.

i love scrapple, I will have it at least once when I visit my mom soon.

Gizzards, scrapple and tripe (Oh my!) :stuck_out_tongue:

I loves that song, but wouldn’t eat any of the 3.

That’s because it’s way too thick. Slice it thin and fry it up so it’s crispy on the ends but soft in the middle. There are few better breakfasts than a scrapple, egg (over easy), and cheese sandwich on toast. All my opinion, of course, but I grew up on the stuff.

Eta: With a nice thin layer of Miracle Whip on the toast. I can’t explain but scrapple is good with Miracle Whip. Or mayo too actually. I’m not picky.
